the difference between kobe and those other guys is his will to win, and desire to take the last shot. he is not afraid to miss and he does not give s $hit if people blame him if he misses.

parang yung last game vs celtics, he is the only one who showed up and wanted to win, the others justs didnt seem to have the energy.

you throw out all the stats during dying seconds of the game, and just give the ball to your team's best player, and that's kobe. During the beijing olympics for instance when spain was threatening to score an upset 89-91, i didnt see the ball going to carmelo, he was even benched during the crucial stretch of 4th quarter. it was kobster who made crucial offensive plays and sealed the win for the US. kobe didnt get 5 rings and not understand what pressure is all about.

by reputation..kobe is the man..just like MJ...
the hell with those stats...

There's actually another article comparing the MJ's clutch abilities vs Kobe:
http://kobe-bryant-michael-jordan.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=78&Itemid=96

excerpt:
Game Winning Shots:

Michael Jordan made 33 out of 58 game winning shots which is a 56.9% shooting percentage, while Kobe has has made 29 but attempted more game winners, and is a 27% career shooter in game winning situations

Yun kay MJ, matitindi na depensa nun.  Talagang physical.  Today, no hand-checking, no jockeying for defensive position, even a subtle push di na pwede, konting kalabit... foul na.

agree when the clock is ticking you give the ball to your best offensive player especially if he is in the zone and especially is he has an unguardable shot (re:kareem's skyhook, mj's fadeaway Js) and yes those stats are not anymore important

on other note, the other LA team is fun to watch

wow.. just wow!

funny movie reference. kobe is really a movie buff

At Monday's Lakers practice, a day after Kobe Bryant took 10 consecutive shots on his own down the stretch of Los Angeles' 109-96 loss to the rival Boston Celtics, Lakers forward Pau Gasol was asked if he was going to talk to Bryant about shooting less.

Turns out Bryant beat him to the punch, approaching Gasol in private sometime between the Celtics loss and the Lakers' 114-106 overtime win over the Houston Rockets on Tuesday to implore the Lakers big man to play like him and shoot more.

"When I'm out there being aggressive and doing my thing, he needs to follow suit and just be just as aggressive which is hard for him because it's kind of against his nature. But I think tonight was a good step," Bryant said.

"Even when he was in Memphis and he was the go-to guy, he was always very nice. Very white swan. I need him to be black swan."

I don't like Kobe. Pero aminado ako na sya ang pinaka magaling na player ngayon. Yet di pa rin sya comparable kay MJ (MJ is a god-like player; Kobe is a very good basketball player).

The only thing I admire about Kobe is that, after every game in the dugout, kini-kiss nya mga kids and wife nya na sumasalubong sa kanya sa dugout. Sweet nya sa kids nya.

MJ had it all. talent, skills, charm with a competitiveness zeal that's unmatched. think Superman. Kobe is more akin to the basketball version of Batman - every move is developed, practiced and learned, a product of determination
Lebron is at this point, a wannabee - a product of marketing.

All-Star Reserves - My vote goes to ...

EAST - I'll Pass ...

WEST - Westbrook, D-Will, Manu, Nowitzki, Gasol, Love, Gay, Duncan - Alternate: Griffin ...

Also, the Spurs (unofficially) will be well represented - Manu and Duncan (Main Game) - Parker (Skills) - Gary Neal and DeJuan Blair (Rookie-Sophomore Game) ...

Rookie: Gary Neal, Blake Griffin, John Wall, Landry Fields. Greg Monroe, DeMarcus Cousins and [please fill in the blanks]

Plus, the announcement of the Hall of Fame Class of 2011 Finalists/Ballot to be led by Reggie Miller (so, the question now is, will he get the call on his first year of eligibility? Remember, some players like Adrian Dantley, Dennis Johnson, etc did not get the call on their first year of eligibility)...

Can't believe that Love didn't make the first cut.  ???  Hope that the Commissioner doesn't disrespect him. Yahoo! Sports says that Nash might be chosen.

As for the East, didn't expect Allen to make it, but Boston deserves to be well-represented.

We deserve better.

LeBron is having a monster game vs. Orlando. Lets see if it is enough for them to win against another tough team.

Lebron ends up with 51 points against Magic. Monster game... Yet they barely won... Buti they managed to hang on. None the less very good offensive gme by LBJ.

Hmmm...BTV would rather serve us a STICK than a STEAK? A "Bucks vs. Warriors" game over a "Spurs vs. Lakers" game?

I would rather watch the "Spurs vs. Lakers" game, than, any of the other 2 games - "Heat vs. Magic" and "Bucks vs. Warriors" ... "Spurs vs. Lakers" = Western Conference Finals Preview ... "Heat vs. Magic" = Florida State Finals Preview ...

Re All-Star Reserves ... I have this feeling that, that is how the players ranked ... Manu (West) and KG (East) has the most number of votes and Duncan (West) and Bosh (East) has the 7th most number of votes ...

Mismo!  I subscribed to NBA Premium last December in time for the LA Mia game.  I only got the SD format at P150 per month.  Mukhang pwede na yun P150 per month considering madaming games ang Lakers, Boston at Miami.  Talagang sinadya nila to show the ho-hum games sa BTV.  So might as well subscribe na lang.  Mura lang naman.

Then after the season, pwede na ipatanggal ulit.  Mabilis lang naman.  Isang tawag lang sa SKY, and in less than 2 minutes they can program (and un-program) the channel.

if this goes through then it shows that denver is really desperate... it has been a mortal sin in the NBA to trade a superstar to a team in the same conference... some say this is just a ploy by denver also so the knicks will be more forced to give what the nuggets want in return for Anthony which is galinari, fields, another young player from another team (Batum) and draft picks.

it was reported that bynum was the centerpiece, the nuggets wants to move harrington also and maybe denver is just using LA for leverage for a better deal and knowing mitch kupchak moves in secrecy i was surprised this leaked out.

Amen.  Pag matalo ulit LA dito, iinit na talaga ang trade rumors.  Won't be surprised if LA pulls off a big deal before the deadline.
