Polarizing lang talaga si Kobe.....and yes, even the Lakers.  If I aint a Laker fan, Id hate Kobe too.

And about Kobe being a ball-hog, yes....you wouldnt be current 6th all time scoring if you werent a little selfish.   Same goes with MJ too.

Nagkataon lang ng pumasok si Kobe, he was a brash arrogant kid.....at a time when MJ was in his last years and universally loved........I think thats where the hate started from.....

eto lineup mo ..lamang ng 2pts kalaban....last 15secs.sa inyo bola.....sino titira...paanong play gagawin niyo?

kerr
mj
reggie
bird
olajuwon

I'm having Kerr inbound to MJ, drive and draw the double with Kerr and Reggie at the corners and Bird on top. Swing it to who's open with about 3-4 secs left. Hakeem there for the possible putback.  :)

ibang klase yan utak ng taong yan... pure confidence and control.. ive read his biographies, and even though mj is my fav, si bird lang ang makakatumbas if not makakatalo sa mental toughness ni mj..

Maybe we should start a separate thread on NBA History haha. Anyway back to 2011...

Seriously, I think a rematch between Lakers and OKC would be exciting to watch.  Last year, they almost got beat by this team.  It's a young, energetic talented team.  And I like Westbrook and of course, Durant Durant.

Lakers should be worried. Wade just said OKC is better. With the addition of Perk, and with Nazr and Collison, they are now being called a younger Boston (in terms of D). They're also more athletic than LAL. Experience na lang ang lamang ng Lakers.

That's why I think now is the best chance for kobe to get his 6th ring and 2nd 3peat. If he doesn't succeed this year he may not have another chance at it again given that:

1. Master Zen is likely to retire at the end of the season
2. Kobe is getting old (he's 32 now)
3. His legs is getting wobbly due to injuries in the past
4. Young teams are on the rise to replace him and the lakers

by the way, the above is also applicable to Boston and the big 3 unfortunately!

Just my 2 cents!  ;D

agree on this, durant westbrook tandem is on a rise, ibaka playing 4 comfortably (8 blks a few games back), perk in the middle, nick a decent rotation for bigs, and thabo a lockdown 2.

i like em OKC

Yes!  As I said, it's an interesting match indeed. Experience vs. Youth.  Sana mag rematch talaga...

Well, the Lakers have won in the past even when they weren't the most talented team. The previous 3peat had them winning against the Spurs (when Duncan was still a elite player with Manu & Tony Parker), the Kings (Webber, Peja, Bibby, Vlade) and the Trailblazers (Pippen, Wallace, Detlef, etc. ).
The current Lakers team isn't even that old. They are just relatively older.

In terms of length, OKC matches up well with the LAkers. Perkins may not be a "dominant" center, but he clogs the middle just the same. A tall, bulky wide body that can hold the fort against bigger players and driving oppenents.

Portland, well, LA struggles with them. I dunno why, but I'd rather face OKC than Portland. If Roy is 100% and with Gerald Wallace starting to blend in nicely, Portland will be a dark horse in the West.

Kobe, Kobe, Kobe. It's just me, the ball and the rim as far as Kobe goes. But it's stupid to think that way about the man knowing that no one player actually wins a title. And Kobe has 5 rings to prove that being labeled a "volume" shooter or a ball hog makes no difference when you're hoisting the trophy at the end of the season.

I'd be pissed off if my team had that many superstars and be down by 2 in the last few seconds instead of blowing the other team away.  ;D

im a die hard celtics but painfully must agree with this opinion, if they cant get a ring this season, i dont think they ever will in quite a long while.

on the other hand, im liking durant so much, in all aspects, talent and attitude, i like his red shoes very much as well.

Miami was defeated by OKC today, but WOW, what a dunk by Wade over Perkins  :o , it could be the dunk of the year.
