Looks like the Spurs are going to drop their fifth in a row, even with their Big 3 back.  Thanks, Boston!  Now hoping for LA to inch a little closer to the Spurs...

hehehe its amusing and weird at the same time having a Laker fan thank Boston  :D

Better hope that the Lakers can also beat the Mavs in a tough 2nd game today for them to stay on track in overtaking the Spurs.

Nice win by the Celts by the way. and its good to at least see JO finally play. Now its just Big Daddy Shaq we are waiting...

He he.. Every Spurs' loss going forward will be a plus, regardless of who beats them.  But it's still a long shot.  The Spurs have the easier sked (HOU, PHX, ATL, SAC, and UTA).  They also play the Lakers near the end of the season - could be no bearing by then.   :P

But even as a Laker fan, I must say that when Rondo is at the top of his game, it's not going to be easy to beat Boston.  He owned the Spurs in the second half.

I agree... others may only think that the reason the Celts have been struggling lately is because of thier injuries to their big men. When in fact the real reason why is the struggles of Rondo lately, there was even a time when Delonte West was the one  finishing the games because of Rondo's erratic play lalo na this March. He even lost the assist leadership partly beacuse I think he was trying to get out of his slump and tried to shoot too much.

But I think it seems to be over with 2 great games that he has played. When he scores efficiently the assists are easier beacuse that is when defenders try to lock him up leaving the others more open...

Also they have to make sure they beat Dallas today as only 1/2 game is separating them. And if ever for any reason Dallas today makes a run and beat them (Lakers are leading right now by 9) they not only overtake the lakers but will be 2 and 1/2 games below the spurs and they too have an easy sched GS, Port, Denver, Clippers, Phoenix, Houston and NO.

The Spurs are in the playoffs, so, no worries. True champions don't need homecourt advantage anyway. Nice to have, but not needed.

Yeah, nice skirmish for a possible second round match-up in the West.  Wala pa si Artest niyan!

I'm not sure "resting" Jermaine is such a good idea. He might need to get back into the feel of the game with the Celtics. With Shaq, it's always a good idea to rest those legs from supporting all that weight and use him when it matters most: the playoffs.

Saw the LA-Dallas game on TV. Terry was just being a punk and lucky him Blake didn't go kung fu on his arse. Nice to see Barnes backing up his teammates and taking no sheeeet from anyone, coach included. I think Barnes was asking the assistant coach to let go of him as he was walking towards the LAkers bench but the coach wouldn't let go.

I dunno why Phil sent Gasol in the later part of the game when it was all but over. Pau might've gotten injured coz of that as he got kncoked down for staying inside.

Steve Blake went for a drive, Jason Terry fouled him then pushed him to the floor as he was trying to get his balance and then all typical no punches confrontation happened. Balke got on Terry's grill fast then Barnes went in and pushed Terry. Players on-court and referees stepped in (sure wish it was like Hockey that they allow punches thrown in then come in when someone goes down). Blake, Barnes, Terry and Haywood (which I don't know really why he was ejected) was thrown out. Shannon Brown got thrown out late in the game when he and Brian Cardinal wanted to add drama as well.

But man there was this amazing stretch bridging the end of the 3rd quarter and the start of the 4th when Lamar Odom hit 3-straight 3 pointers and a lay-up for an 11-0 LAkers run that all but deflated the Mavs' hopes of winning the game.

Lakers just a game behind in loss column......Ive also conceded it when they were 8 games behind.  But I guess, thats the NBA....mabilis magbago yung fate ng teams.   Just as the  Lakers are the hottest team now, Spurs could also easily turn it around in the playoffs.

Last season, Lakers also faded in the end of regular season...but won it all.

Spurs though, iba yung gameplay nila this season.   Manu and Parker carry the team in offense, and they play a faster pace.  It follows they also give up more points than what a slower paced game would be, which is the characteristic of the old Spurs champion teams.  Is it a decision Popovich made with the roster in hand?   Coz the difference in current team, they dont have someone in the mold of Horry and Bowen that were the defense specialist/enforcers in those title teams.

Lets see if Spurs can bring the "shutting teams down" mentality that usually dictates gameplay in the playoffs.

Out na si Gay for the season. Pero deadly pa rin Memphis. I think they've beaten the Spurs twice this year, and handed LA one of its worst losses this season. Malamang sa 8th babagsak ang New Orleans, and without David West, eto ang ideal na first round opponent.

Based on the current standings, potential first round match-ups in the East are: CHI-IND, MIA-NYK, BOS-PHI and ORL-ATL.  Hope the MIA-NYK match-up will happen. Puro mahahangin players nito.  :)

We deserve better.

Out of the current teams in the playoff race, mukhang New Orleans lang naman ang bleak ang playoff success dahil nawala si David West.  Memphis, which has shown it can win without Gay, along with Denver, Oklahama, Portland and Dallas, are all formidable enough to beat higher seeds like LA or San Antonio.

So I dont think San Antonio is tanking just to avoid an unfavorable match-up.  its just hard to control that fate.   What they can control though is win games to secure HCA.  Its something LA is currently working on, and something Im sure Spurs would like to secure too.....HCA the rest of the play-offs/or at least in the west.

Though its easy to say great teams dont need HCA and can always win on the road, its  handy to have the advantage.  In the play-offs, the team with the HCA wins the series 75% of the time.

Watched the Lakers Nuggets game this am at NBA premium.  The Nuggets snapped the winning streak of LA via a 95-90 victory, in LA!  Kenyon Martin delivered the killer blow with a power follow up basket off a free throw miss by Lawson that gave them the 5 point lead. Bangis nung Martin at Galinari.  Ganda rin ng defense ng Nuggets kay Black Mamba.  Minsan lang ako manuod ng live ng Lakers talo pa.  Bwiset! ;D

so the Spurs will hold on to that no. 1 spot after all.. I'm excited about the possible 2nd round match-ups in both East and West.. if the standings now hold and if no upsets happen in the 1st round, it'll be Bulls-Magic, Celtics-Heat, Spurs-Thunder and Lakers-Mavs.. those are tough to call.. homecourt advantage will play a big role as early as the 2nd round..

Which team do u think will win it all?
Will the Back to Back champion LA Lakers accomplish Threepeat and give Phil Jackson his 12th championships?
Will the Superstars led Miami Heat live up to the expectations?
Whose ur choice for Coach of the Year? Season MVP?

I'm routing for the Derek Rose led Chicago Bulls to win it all this season.

I admire how Coach Tom Thibodeau blended this team from the start till now.

No fancy Superstars, just simply Derek Rose and a bunch of role players (Luol Deng, Carlos Boozer, Kyle Krover,Omer Asik, Joakim Noah, Kurt Thomas, Taj Gibson, Ronnie Brewer,Keith Bogans, CJ Watson) blending harmoniously all contributing to the team's success this season.

My Choice
COACH of the Year: Tom Thibodeau
Season MVP: Derek Rose
