Whew that was close. Boston 1-0 against Knicks, 87-85 on a 3 by Allen with 11.6 seconds. As expected this was a real barn burner.... This is a long ways to go but I am glad we got game 1.

Carmelo patalo.  ;D He should have drove to the basket instead of settling for a three. Even if he did not make it, at least, it's a higher percentage shot.

I think nobody in LA can guard Paul one on one so LA should be doubling CP3 every time he has the ball.  :) And there's no other threat in NO that's why it's worth the risk of doubling him and make other shoot the ball or make the play.

I thought Spurs would play good defense by now since it playoff time but letting Memphis shoot 55% from the field is not a reflection of that.

I expect both these teams to play better in the 2nd game because if not, it smells like an upset in the making.

now the boys are being separated forn the men, although i just realized the NYK is a different team now, they are no push overs.

one thing working good in favor of the Celts though, Stadoumire, Anthony to me are both chokers, when the going gets tough, they are just not there

Melo and Amare aren't exactly chokers. Amare has proved that he can play at high level come playoff time in the West and while Melo has some history of disappointing play at the playoffs, he's not exactly bad at crunch time. To put Melo's crunch time abilities in perspective, I'm reposting this:

Trailing by one or two points, or tied, in the final 24 seconds of regular-season and playoff games since 1996-97, with a minimum of 30 shots.

Carmelo Anthony    21    44     47.7%
Kobe Bryant           36    115    31.3%
Entire league          2038 6861  29.7%

http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/24200/the-truth-about-kobe-bryant-in-crunch-time

I think your using the word "choke" much too lightly. An example of a choke is Nick Anderson missing 4 straight free throws 1995 NBA finals or the Yankees losing a 7 game series to the Red Sox when they're already leading it 3-0. Losing a very tough game against a top seeded team in the playoffs or missing a very difficult game winning shot doesn't exactly constitute a choke.

I agree on this 100%. I maybe a Boston fan but NY is a tough team also, especially with Amare, Melo and Big Shot there. I expected this to be this close, but I am confident the Celtics will still pull through because of their expirience and late game execution in offense and defense. I just hope they play better when the series tranfers to NY cause in my opinion the Celts and Dallas have the best opponents in the 1st round but this will serve them some good when they advance as they will be tested early and will be on focus the whole playoffs.

Looks like the teams we expected to easily beat their opponents in game 1 like the Lakers and the Spurs got the shocks they needed to play better in game 2 and take their opponents seriously.

While the teams that we expected to have though games like Boston and OKC got away with the wins although it was though. Big game by the way for Durantulla and R. Westbrook.

Yes, pero madami pang oras nun, 11sec. Dapat sinaksak ni Melo for 2 points baka maka kuha pa ng foul +1.
Pero buti na lang kse boston ako e, hehe! Pero hirap na hirap Boston. Paano na kaya yan pag Heat and Bulls!

The Celts will find a way pare. That is what great ball clubs do, find a way to win despite the odds. Nobody gave them a chance last year, yet they went to the finals. Mas lalo na ngayon, i think the only ones that think that we can go all the way again are the Boston fanatics... even the ordinary fans are starting to doubt. IMHO that is the beauty of being a true fan, you stick with them and believe no matter what kung talo talo and no excuses pag panalo naman heaven ang feeling.... ganun lang ka simple ;)

i still believe that celtics will go onto the 2nd round, sabi nya ni doc rivers hero shot, hero pass, hero defense walang superstar, everybody stepped up. and what about that jermaine o'neal sightning, still have the feel for the ball.

ganda din okc vs den, see saw battle. durant+westbrook= future

guess liking a player and not liking them applies in my comment, honestly my opinion really, i have never been fond at how amare and anthony plays and their what i opine as lack of grit and toughness in defense and ability to lead their respective teams before to greatness, again my opinion.

im for the Celts but because of Shaq O neal, who obviously has not shown any great value yet to the team, perhaps on his way to retirement whether he likes it or not.

If NY defeats the Celts, I would perhaps change my view of how i see Amare and Anthony as players, not off course in being great ones because they are, but merely just how i see them.

tama ka dito sir, until they prove otherwise pero sana wag na muna this year hehe... Shaq will be ok and will always be a plus to any team beacuse of his size and heft... the only problem right now is we need him to be available to play... good thing JO had a good game to let the C's have an inside presence in both offense and defense. dun nga sa isang article sa yahoo, they compared the impact of JO to the impact of Perk in today's games and it was seen na mas malaki ang impact ni JO... lalo na yan pag naging available na si Shaq if ever...

sana they can still squeeze out something from their juices, JO is at one point one of the best there is but the quality of his play dwindled in passing of time,i hope we can still se the JO of the Indiana days of old(tama ba na Indiana sya)

Tulad ng sabi ko noong ASG, CP3 is damn good. There's a reason they call him the best PG in the NBA. Nobody runs the pick and roll better.
