2 rings out of a possible 3 attempts isnt failure. its what NBA Team owners dream of. it is called a resounding success.

Lakers done... EPIC FAIL... its how they finished the game - SWEEP. from now on... i will always remember Lakers for their SWEEP lost to Dallas....

Bynum??? played great??? or played dirty... tsk tsk tsk... almost killed Barea (smaller guy)... mga player katulad ni bynum hindi na dapat pinapaglaro ang mga ganyang klaseng players... puwedeng ikamatay ni Barea ginawa niya... dapat ban na yan for life sa NBA ni makapasok kahit saang basketball court...walang kwentang player...

He's quite remorseless in the post-game interview too, "We were being embarrassed, so I fouled him"

Really classy there Bynum, Orlando's gonna want to trade D12 for you now...

I wouldn't quite call it a resounding success. When you're paying $91m a year in salaries (plus around 30mil in luxury tax), you'd expect your team to go deeper in the playoffs. They're pretty successful but not resoundingly so.

Congratulations to the Dallas Mavericks for advancing to the Western Conference Finals!

As an LA fan it was really a disappointing postseason. Tired legs and lack of focus by most of the team cost us in the end. Now comes the rebuilding. Bring in new hungry players to replace those whose off court antics distratct from the goal. Rest those weary legs and heal those chronic injuries built upon 2 straight championship seasons. Then come back and continue the winning tradition.

I wouldn't mind seeing those two win one. One of the small market teams (OKC/MEM) winning it all would be great for the league too.

Well, all good things do come at end. 3 straight finals was great especially last year's win when things went full circle. I don't think Dwight Howard will be an upgrade over Bynum. Kobe should have more time to recuperate from his injuries.
The one thing that's sad is to see PJ going out this way. But you could see that the Lakers were somewhat worn out from the start when they didn't perform well early in the season even though the schedule was favorable. Gasol i think was specially mentally fatigued at the end.

good thing I didn't watch the whole game. I had a premonition this would end like Game 6 of the 2008 finals and Game 7 of the 2006 1st round series with Phoenix. going through that again would have been more depressing.

I hate that attitude,...
Should have showed great sportsmanship,
mas hahangaan pa sila, yet mas pinili nilang ipakita ang dumi ng laro nila...
What class,..? WA CLASS,...

So with that statement, you must think the Mavericks are total failures with 90M a year/0 championships/numerous early playoff exits. Or how about the Magic? 89M and only 1 finals appearance in the last decade. What a bunch of losers right?  ::)

I'm curious who you consider a resounding success.  ;D

im already ecstatic with the back to back championships. dun pa lang solb nako. so walang problema kung matalo sila this season. kesa sa iba dyan na banderang kapos. lol.

stagnant na kasi yung lakers, this loss is exciting for me as a fan kung ano gagawin nila sa offseason.

new coaching staff, time to upgrade the PG spot, bench, maybe get an all star or 2 to join the team.

I agree.   And that act will be punished accordingly by the NBA.   Wouldnt be surprised if Bynum would be suspended for 5 games.

I actually liked that about Kobe. At least he's not a quitter like the others...

Eto pa vintage Bynum. Same move he did on Barea, pero ang biktima naman e si Gerald Wallace:

Tapos si Michael Beasley naman:

It was really a humiliating loss and something that all LA fans would want to consider a bad dream >:(.  After that Game 3 loss, my 10 year old son, a huge LA fan, kept saying "Ayoko na sa Lakers Dad!!".  All I can do is give him a pep talk on the old "winning, losing, team loyalty" blah blah and "it-ain't-over-till-it's-over" but you know how kids are.  Anyway, after that Game 3 loss I thought it was over.  I figured it will be a blowout in Game 4 and it was!  During Game 3, I really sensed things aren't well in the Laker bench.  Several times, Coach Phil was caught on cam lambasting GASUL.  And those errors in the dying minutes again killed them.

Looking back at the series, it could have been 2-2 by now as the Lakers actually took Games 1 & 3 but lost in crunch time.  If only they played their usual game.

But let's give where credit is due :  MAVS played a hell of a series!  Dirk, Peja, Terry shot the lights out and the bench of the Mavs totally outplayed LA.  Mavs bench scored 86 points in Game 4 - that's the total score of the entire Laker team!!

As for Coach Phil, well, yes he had a good run indeed.  But it could have been a better ending, not getting swept in a playoff series.  Dyahe talaga.  But life's like that.  He's a Zen Master and I'm sure he can take that.  Lakers definitely will bounce back.  They will survive no doubt in the coming years.  But as one member said, mahirap kalimutan sa isip yun 0-4 :o  That's NBA ladies and gentlemen.

Congrats to the Mavs.  Finally Dirk has exercised his demons ;D   Looking forward to a still exciting championship ( sans the Lakers ).  I asked my son what team will he root for now?  His answer?  "HEAT!". Darn.

I have a feeling he will BACK.  Not as a coach but whatever in the LA bench.  Commentator Brent Barry said this.  His such a big factor in LA that his mere presence alone is important...
