Dirk goes berserk!  40 points with still 5 minutes to go and Mavs up by 11.

And this small guy Barea has been very consistent since the LA series.  Ang galing nito.  Mala Hector Calma ang mga moves nito.  Drive sa gitna sabay floating shot over the big guys.  Siya sumira ng defense ng LA eh.

It's now 44 pts, 11-14 FG, 22-22 FTA, 6 REBS, 3 ASTS, 4 BLKS, 2 TOS.

Monster game by Dirk!  ;D

Quite unusaul for him though to finish a game without a single 3-point shot attempt.  ;D

It was like a shootout between dirk & kd. A showdown of the NBAs' best shooters. They made basketball looked so easy. In the end, dirk had more bullets.. and got better support from his sidekicks (JT & JJ). ;D

I doubt if the Thunder can do anything do defend dirk. On the same note, neither can the Mavs stop KD. Guess it all boils down on how they will guard the supporting cast.

MONSTER game by Dirk.
This year is his closes chance for redemption after choking with his free throws during the crucial game 6 of thier Championship series against the Heat years ago.

Wow, Dirk with 48 points on only 15 field goal attempts!!!

That's how many field goals my boy Kobe attempts in one quarter, hehe.

KD didn't do badly either, 40 points on 18 shots.

Bukas na bukas, magpapractice shooting ako.

wow! good for them ;D sino ba matunog na college players ngayon?

Its a toss up with PG Kyrie Irving from Duke and the 6'8 Power Forward in Derrick Williams. But my guess is the cavs will go with a PG and draft Irving.

Though many are saying there are no franchise changing immidiate players in this years draft. Barnes and Sullinger both shooting guards that are a lock in the top 3 decided to stay 1 more year in college. maybe because of the lock out possibility, but for me those 2 are much more NBA ready than anyone in the draft this year.

There are also a 2-3 intruiging international players, power player Kantes who is a solid Center/Forward even for NBA standards, Vasely easily the most athletic player in the draft you can see dunks of him in youtube medyo payat nga lang and there's another Center from lithuania in Valanciunas...

you're right you can never put the entire blame on the ages of players, but with age comes injuries, some of their players who are even young suffered injuries... and though that is also no excuse it affects the games played. Sometimes a single injury can make you lose a few games, make you lose home court advantage and eventually lose in playoffs, but that does not say that you had a literally bad season... You just lost to either a better, younger or a hungrier team

There are 30 teams in the Nba, 16 to the playoffs from there only 2 will go through the finals until 1 is crowned the champion... So you cannot say that even for sucessful teams like the Celtics, Lakers or Spurs na inexcusable pag natalo sila when there are 27 teams left trying to dislodge them... panapanahon lang yan Kobe, KG, TD, Pierce and Manu used to be young also until time passed on them... someday tatanda din sina LBJ, KD, D Wade and D Rose... And someone will take their places... The question will be how their legacy will be remembered and how they will re shape thier game when their prime is over... when thier athlethesism leaves them how will they play and react...Veteran Savvy, di natuturo yan it is acquired through experience and yun ang sinasabi ni sir bumblebee na you give respect were respect is due... Remember when you win it is easier to get praises, but if you get respect even whe  you lost that is a different thing...

A lot of factors contribute to winning. There's talent, chemistry, age, coaching, ultimo fans contribute.  And pag nagsama sama lahat yun, teams win championships.  I'd like to believe that the good teams in the NBA each get moments of glory and the chance to become champs.  You either take it or you don't because sa dami ng magaling na team, baka di na maulit.    I remember the Kings circa Webber, Divac, Turkoglu, Bibby.  They had their shining moment vs the Lakers but they blew it.  They almost became champs but lost to LA.

Now, looking at the Mavs, it is high time that they win a ring.  Tumatanda na sila Dirk at Jason Kidd.  Dapat magchampion na sila because THEY DESERVE IT.  They are a great team for so many years but laging kapos.  Yaan mo na Boston, Lakers, Spurs.  They have aged but they have cemented their legacies already in the NBA.  Nanalo na yan mga yan.  Ang Mavs, wala pa.  If the Mavs will let this slip, I doubt if they can ever win a ring again.  Parang Kings yan.  You have Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls, OKC, even Memphis and Atlanta.  These are the teams of the future with very young and athletic players.  Not to mention of course, a rebuilding Lakers and Boston team.

So dpogs, yes Lakers and Boston lost to better teams definitely.  The Heat with the Big 3 (dapat din mag champion kasi nakakahiya sa laki ng expectation ) and the Mavs who's long overdue for a ring.  Inexcusable loses kasi matanda na sila?  Hmmm, I don't think so.  Kasi nga nag champion na yan mga yan.  Inexcusable perhaps if both Boston and Lakers have not won a ring until now given their powerhouse lineups and coaches.
