Not counting Magic because although PG siya he is 6'9, is there a team in our generation that had the championship with the PG as thier main star player except Isaiah Thomas with the Pistons... Can't think of any other kasi its either the star player is a center, forward or shooting guard lagi but never a PG...

The 2004 Pistons had Billups but it was more of a team effort than a single player standing out in that series...

kasi kung pure PG, more on playmaker like jasonKidd. hindi talaga magiging high scoring.

still remains to be seen. rings will be the best proof.

lbj, just like magic is taller than mj. magic even started at center in game6 of the 1980 finals with the 76rs and scored 42pts/grabbed 15boards but issued only 7assists. lbj can play the point,sg,forwards and perhaps center if dallas were to play small with dirk in the middle.

nice read ^

heat wants to shut-up mark cuban (again) and the mavs wants to shut-up lbj big blabbah to seek revenge. this time with mostly new casts of players.

___

perhaps for some or many, even MJ's being the best player ever is debatable. there's bill russel with 11rings, magic and larry. tho both magic and birds kinda "concede" that MJs the greatest.

"You can't guard me, Coach!"

"Never mind, neither can the Heat."

Take 2 here:

"They can't guard me at PS3 Coach.  So what happened last night?"

"You're on rookie mode, dumb ass"

---

Watched the game on replay.  More than the offense explosion by the Big 3 in the last minute ( 4 point play by DWade, 3 point barrage by LBJ and 2 all important free throws by Bosh ), it's the DEFENSE of the Heat that clicked tremendously.  That last defensive stop on Korver and Rose, with Rose forcing a last second 3 point shot and getting supalpal again by LBJ was flawless. As they say, offense wins games but defense wins championships.  Galing!

yup i understand this sir... a star player is not always the highest scorer in the team but someone who leads the team and a great PG can be the star player by doing play orchestrations and assisting, but there has been a slew of great PG's in our time that are the main men of teams like stockton, nash, kidd (when he was still at his prime) and now CP3, D-Will and Derrick Rose but the ever elusive championship for a PG star player is still not there.

Stockton had a great team back then and so did Nash in Dallas and Phoenix, but no ring... doesn't it baffle you that the greatest players in what is considered the most imporatant position in the starting 5 can't win even with ample support... yet the other positions have proven they can win even without a star quality PG.

But MJ took it even to another level, winning 6 championships without a star quality PG and Center whew...

now imagine the EastC. with the big3heats -lbj,dw,cb., baka ilang taon magdusa si dRose bago makasungkit ng isa. yan ang pinagdaanan ni MJ sa detroit badboys. pero sa huli, sweep nila ang pistons 4-0. ni hindi nag-congrats sila isaiahT, direcho sa lockeroom. ended the pistons era and mj got his 1st? ring beating magic's lakers. dun yung dunk sana na ginawang layup napatunganga si magic. start of the bulls reign (1st 3peat). si charles barkeley, clyde drexler minalas din. tapat-tapat lang yan.

06-07 vs. cleveland?  ??? tama ba wiki?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Antonio_Spurs
In the 2007 NBA Finals, the San Antonio Spurs swept the Cleveland Cavaliers and captured their fourth title in nine years. Duncan proclaimed that that championship was "the best" of the four championships, and acknowledged he played "sub-par" and thus received only one vote for NBA Finals MVP from a panel of ten.[25] The award was won by Tony Parker who dominated in the Finals averaging 24.5 ppg on 57% shooting. Tony Parker became the first European-born player to win the Finals MVP.[1]

on miami heat. i know its too early to count chickens. they will take it a game at a time. pero nangangamoy "dynasty" ang read ko kay pat riley- ala-showtime lakers?  ::) ;D....... pag naumpisahan ang rings next year ;D ;D ;D

magaling na PG. dirks not getting any younger din.

any other contenders?

blasphemy!

show me the rings!!!  ;D too early to tell, though i must admit talagang malaki ang potential ni lbj na mapantayan si mj. esp kung maging heat dynasty ni pat riley gaya nung showtime lakers niya KAJ/magic/jw

shocking, coming from scottie!
read on>

vote and check the results!  ;D

This comparison is nuts. Yeah, until Lebron gets his rings (at least 6 dapat), he can never be considered the GOAT. And winning rings with the help of Wade (sige na nga - and Bosh) after the Decision will always be arguments against that. Sure MJ had Scottie and Rodman, but they were largely perceived to be just "secondary" players no matter how great they were in their own right - MJ was really THE Man in Chicago's championship teams. Lebron can't make that same claim (yet) with the Heat.

Lebron just looks great now because he is playing beside Wade and Bosh.  If you'll notice Lebron's demeanor when he hits a dry spell, he seems to look at Wade to bail him out.  After Wade comes to the rescue, he gets this emotional lift to attack again.

A rest from the finals not sure if na post na dito pero balita for any fans of the NBA

source: abs-cbnnews.com

Filipino businessman Manny V. Pangilinan finally confirmed rumors that he has been invited to help keep the struggling Sacramento Kings franchise afloat.

In an interview with the Philippine Daily Inquirer in Hong Kong, Pangilinan said that he wants a majority stake if he does decide to accept the offer to join a group of investors that will take over the Kings.

“I have to admit, the idea is very titillating,” said Pangilinan.

According to Pangilinan, the group of investors was organized by retired former NBA All-Star Chris Webber, who was the star of the Kings from 1998 to 2005. They met during Pangilinan’s recent trip to Sacramento, where he visited the Arco Arena, the Kings’ home stadium.

“If we proceed, we’ll be seeking a majority stake,” said Pangilinan, the chair of the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company and owner of the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters and the Meralco Bolts in the Philippine Basketball Association.

Pangilinan is also the head of Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.

Pangilinan told Inquirer that he will need to personally invest between $200 million and $260 million for a stake in the Kings.

“Whether we do it or not, it’s a great idea for a Filipino group to own an NBA team,” Pangilinan said. “Filipino coaches and players could be part of an NBA team.”

If he decides to join the group of investors, Pangilinan will become the first Asian to control an NBA team.

Pangilinan has expressed some concerns regarding this business venture, however. “We would be absentee owners,” he said in an interview with the Business Mirror. “We are here and the NBA team is there while we manage it here. It’s different when you manage a business in the country where you live.

“Hopefully, we could invite some Filipino investors in the equation.”

Pangilinan’s group will reportedly meet with the Kings’ representatives next month.

The Sacramento Kings organization has been mired in financial issues for the past few years, due in part to the team’s poor performance.
They last made the NBA postseason in 2006.

The team is owned by the group of California businessman George Maloof Sr., which has been battling money troubles as well.

Earlier this month, the group decided to keep the team in Sacramento for another year. -- With a report from Business Mirror

Did MJ asked for help and colluded with other stars to beat Boston or Detroit in those days?  No.

He actually relished beating those other stars like Bird....Thomas.

------------------------------------------------

MJ 30.1ppg, 6.2 rpg, 5.3 apg, 2.35 spg

LBJ 27.7ppg, 7.1 rpg, 7.0 apg 1.7 spg

I know stats dont matter in this topic......but I dont know how it can be overlooked that MJ was also a very good all around player.    LBJ's stats in rebs and assts are only higher coz he is a point forward, and a bigger/taller player who can rebound and mix it up.    MJ's stats at the 2 position are truly great.

No doubt.  MJ, the better player. The better winner.

Kahit manalo ng sampung titles ang Heat with that trio.   Para sa akin, me asterisk yan.

I admire Lebron's talent and skill, but the guy is a douchebag.

________________________

Will MJ respond?   Maybe Scottie resents his place besides MJ's stature.   This is blasphemy.
