According to some, si Wade daw ang hero not Lebron. What!? I believe LBJ is reserving his A Game when needed. When the game is on the line.  But if the Mavs will play like this, where they can't even beat the Heat who played below par (malas pa nga eh!), how can they expect to even win one game in the series? ;D

sweep the mavs... sweep the mavs... sweep the mavs...

o di ba... hindi si MJ ang greatest player he he he...

Many in the thread kept saying the Heat played tremendous offense by out shooting Dirk and the Mavs. For me, you can never outshoot a team with a lineup such as the Mavs.  All first five players CAN score 20 points and more.

are'nt you exaggerating  a bit sir?
chandler?you have to give him 10 alley oops for him to score that much.7 ppg
marion?maybe.11.5 ppg
kidd?puede din.9.9 ppg
stevenson?you dont deserve to be in the finals if you let him score that much.3.6 ppg

those are their averages in the play offs.now there is no argument that heats defense is the key to their win today but to say that the other four starters can score 20 points and more?

naka-ilang misa ka? nagpa-pray-over ka? ilang kandilang itim sinunog mo? hehehe  ;D

at least may something in common sila ni bill- RINGS.

ni minsan di ko maalala na si MJ nagparang kingkong "i am the greatest". its those whom he beat (magicJ larryb etc), sportswriter, fans etc who accorded him -alltime greatest.

LBJ paano masabing "i beat the best". he played with one of the current best (dwade), who may turn out to be better than him. hehehe

even kobe cant claim the title kasi kasama niya si shaq nung nanalo sila. pero imo kobe ang closest air-apparent for now...

On topic of greatest player all time, agree ako kay KAJ.  Bill Russell pa rin best sa akin all-time (11 rings).  Kahit 1st year niya as playing coach, champion pa rin.  Argueably, Jerry West is also one of the greatest, being the NBA's icon.

hindi na inabutan nung iba sina jerrywest johnhavlicek, rickbarry, elginbaylor, jojowhite, davecowens earlthepearlmonroe, george iceman gervin, bob love moses malone wes unseld and other all-time top50s... mas familiar sila kay Dr.J

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar just published a letter about MJ and LBJ. He disagreed with Pippen, and disagreed with everyone who disagreed with Pippen, and disagrees with everyone here at pdvd hehe.

KAJ says Wilt and Russell are greater than MJ.

Since "the greatest" is not a real result but, in the end, merely an opinion, it all boils down to whose opinion has more weight with you.

With me, KAJ's opinion has more weight than Scottie's and the opinion of anyone else who's voiced an opinion on this topic anywhere in the world in the last week. Yun lang. Here's the link...

Back to 2011. Ricky Rubio just let the deadline pass for signing for next year, under the current CBA. Will he still sign, albeit at a lower salary? I'd like to see how his game transfers to the NBA.

pwede siguro 'the greatest of his era' because di naman talaga sila nagkasabay-sabay, or kung nagkasabay man, they were not at the same peak of their game.

The Mavs are simply overmatched in the 2 & 3 positions. There's no way Stevenson, Terry & Peja can cover either Wade or LBJ. Rick Carlisle must now ponder if fielding Barrea & Kidd at the same time would be as productive as it did against OKC. Caron Butler would've been a big help but he's out the rest of the season. Game 1 showed that Dallas can't match-up whenever D-Wade, LBJ, Miller, Bosh & Haslem are playing at the same time.

Or Bat-Mite.  :)

In the news today- yesterday's Game 1 was watched by more viewers than last year's Game 1 rematch between LA and Boston. That's surprising.

Shaq has finally retired.
We deserve better.

2-3 years late but Im glad Shaq retired na.

-Unanimous top 5 Center, behind Bill Russel, KAJ and Wilt.  Should be 4th, before Hakeem.  Hakeem beat him in Finals, but Shaq Id say more dominating, especially in his prime.

-Never saw Wilt play...but Id say Shaq's the most unstoppable/dominant player in his prime. His performance in the 3 finals 200-2002 is just pure dominance.  His 35.9 points, 15.2 rebounds and 2.9 blocks 3 year NBA FInals MVP run was staggering!!  I was watching a lot of Laker games during that era...and when the ball got into his sweet spot.....sure two points na....me bitbit pa!!!

-Never the player who made the most with his talent.  Never was a gym rat.  Dominated with pure physical talent in his prime...but paid dearly at the tailend of career.   But he made the most out of life off the court, and we'll remember him too for the quotes, the jokes, the pranks, the dances etc.

-Lakers will retire his Jersey.

-Most with nicknames.   He's now the BIG 401k.  :)

Thanks for the memories big guy!!

20  reasons why you should root for the Mavs

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/news/story?id=6614490

1. Pull for Dallas to win these NBA Finals because Miami will get forklifts of rings someday. This might be Dallas' last chance.

2. Pull for Dallas because it got screwed in the 2006 Finals worse than Bartman. To lose to the same team five years later would be tantamount to basketball waterboarding.

3. Pull for Dallas because Mark Cuban hasn't opened his mouth once.

4. Pull for Dallas because Dirk Nowitzki deserves this title more than anybody else on the floor, more than LeBron James, more than Dwyane Wade.

5. Pull for Dallas because Nowitzki stayed with his team, never took his talents anywhere but to the damn gym every day.

6. Pull for Dallas because Nowitzki has stuck it out through 13 seasons so far with this one team, stuck it out through all those depressing playoff springs, all those one-and-dones, all those words people called him -- "loser" "choker" "soft" -- stuck it out even when Steve Nash left, leaving Nowitzki with a lot of nobodies and some mops.

7. Pull for Dallas because when you ask Nowitzki why he didn't bolt the way everybody else does, he simply says, "Because this is where my heart is."

8. Pull for Dallas because Nowitzki didn't try to win a title the new way, didn't pick the best kids on the playground and take on everybody else, didn't get a bunch of super-human friends and schedule himself a ring, like you might a kegger or your birthday party.

9. Pull for Dallas because Nowitzki has this crazy idea about trying to win one the old fashioned way, by getting better.

10. Pull for Dallas because James is so heaven-sent talented that he'll get more than his share of rings before he's done.

11. Pull for Dallas because Nowitzki is much closer to done than starting now.

12. Pull for Dallas because 38-year-old Jason Kidd deserves one, too, despite what he says. "I want this more for Dirk than for me," says Kidd, who's played in three decades -- 17 years -- in this league without champagne in his hair. "All the work Dirk's put in, all the time. Man he deserves it more than anybody on this team. Plus, if he gets it, that means I get one too, right?"

13. Pull for Dallas because Kidd is the guy everybody likes, the Ray Bourque of the NBA, the one everybody wants to see hold the trophy over his head someday. If he doesn't win it now, in his third Finals try, he'll never win it.

14. Pull for Dallas because it has the best locker room in the NBA, not a whiner among them. There are more good guys in that room than in some divisions.

15. Pull for Dallas because it doesn't do pre-championship celebrations. Dallas has this crazy notion that you should actually hold the trophy in your hands before you throw the parade. Wouldn't it be nice to give them one?

16. Pull for these Dallas Mavericks because the way things are going, the Dallas Cowboys may never win a title again.

17. Pull for Dallas because it's clear they're the underdogs in this, sort of the way a squirrel is the underdog vs. an owl. You knew that after Tuesday night's Game 1, the way LeBron James was flying over people like Air Florida and Dwyane Wade was dazzling everybody else, the way he does in NBA Finals. You knew that the way they pulled away to that win in Game 1.

18. Pull for Dallas because its best player, Nowitzki, has a torn tendon in his left middle finger now and yet never once blinked when we asked if he'll keep playing.

19. Pull for Dallas because it's not about The Decision. It's about one team taking the easy way to a title and another team taking a way that just keeps getting harder.

20. Pull for Dallas, because, my God, how many good things can happen to Pat Riley in one lifetime?

20. Pull for Dallas, because, my God, how many good things can happen to Pat Riley in one lifetime?

bad journalism imo. most of the reasons he said were redundant. he could've actually shrunk it to 5 reasons. i also don't agree with number 14. saying that the Miami players are whiners is subjective but they're telling it like it's a fact. all of the players in Miami actually have their own charity or foundation so by this reason there are more good guys in Miami than in Dallas' locker room. how many of the players in Dallas does this? this writer trying to incite hate towards Miami and halata naman na hater lang sya.

also, di ba nya alam na sinabi ni Dirk na kung siya yung inalok nila LBJ and Wade na maging kakampi nila na sasama daw sya? so the reason to root for Dallas because Dirk stuck it out with the same team is already thrown out the window.

last but not the least, enough with this Dirk deserves to win the championship crap because of this and that. you can only deserve the championship if you actually won it and not because of some other reason.
