pwede po bang pa-post ng onscreen menus ng E8HD nyo - browsing ng movie/file/music? for general reference lang po. gaano po ba kalaki to? baka pwede rin makuhanan habang hawak yung actual unit. salamat po ng marami.

Finally got my Mac and Measy to link-up. Can now transfer files to the NTFS HD of my Measy from my Mac. Next on the agenda is to set-up direct torrent download to the Measy.

Nakaka decode ba ito ng DTS?
Ganda sana para no need na for receiver decoder.
Thanks!

If the USB wifi has a realtek chip on it, it should work.  I've seen on the forums (not sure if here) this should work from cdrking.

Sir, you have to format the HDD with the Measy after upgrading the firmware to the 6.23AW version para magsupport ng direct torrent downloads.

Wag niyo muna lagyan ng laman yung HDD if you're planning to setup the torrent feature.

I hope this helps.

Thanks!

Thanks for the information.

Presently connected the player to my home network using lan.  Drawback of this is I have to use a long cable to connect it.

I have this wifi dongle.

I have no luck connecting to my wifi AP.  The dongle has a realtek chip.

I just decided to use the wired lan connection.  Setup all the necessary configuration, now transferring my media content to the internal HDD.

Does anyone know how to get the iPhone web interface remote to work? Whenever I type in the Measy's IP address I only get the Neighborhood page which allows control of the BT downloading....

Another question, the v.8.5 firmware is up online again (Nov.30) is it now safe to update? (since last Nov. 14 lots of people were complaining about buggy firmware)

No need to format the new HD if you're going to support torrent on Measy?

just got a unit and used it viewing MKV movies on an internal  HDD.  I'm very satisfied with the PQ. Also, tried accessing video files from another PC via network and it worked well.

Ask ko lang po sa mga Measy user kung na-encounter nyo yung fatal error when accessing the IMS.
Ano po ba kailangan gawin? Minsan ay nakakapasok naman ako sa IMS lalo na pag una ko access yung HDD then go to Home then access IMS.

TIA

hi folks, just upgraded my measy's fw to v8 from their website last night.

here are my initial impressions, this is by no means an in-depth review, so YMMV :) Also, apologies for the PQ, madalian ko lang kinuhanan kagabi so I had to use my phonecam.

Upgrade process (time and process-wise) was the same when I upgraded to v6.23.

When you first turn on the unit after the upgrade process, it will display this message below. I don't know what it actually does to the unit, as I don't have a bluetooth dongle installed and my measy isn't wired to my home network. Maybe sir Garfield can comment on this :)

Here's now how the home menu looks like:

My main reason for upgrading to the v8 firmware is album art. Yes, it is now available, as seen below.  Of course, you'd have to have your movies in folders, along with the pics that came with it for the album art to display properly.

While watching a movie, when pressing the Info button, here's how the display looks like now.

Some of things that I think are worth mentioning on this new FW.

If you go to the movies icon, for some reason it's not displaying the thumbnails correcty to show the album art. See the 2nd thumbnail below for the movie "Be Kind, Rewind", it's not showing the album art thumbnail.

But if you go to HDD, you will see the album art for the same movie displayed correctly.

Also, if you use the movies icon, you can see that some of the filenames of the actual movies are displayed, instead of the folder name. Check out the thumbnail below Anchorman, it's displaying a filename instead of that movie's folder name (which is named correctly)

Anyway, enough of the album art information :) I played a movie last night, so far so good, the FW didn't hang on me. The movie names below the folder scroll to reveal the entire name, it could be a bit faster especially if the movie title is long, ie:

Harry Potter - The Chamber of Secrets
Harry Potter - The Half Blood Prince

The folder name will display only Harry Pott..and then scroll to reveal the rest of the name, a bit too slow for the rest of the name to appear, but that's just me being too OC :)

Anyway, I'll stick with this FW for now, unless it hangs on me. The 6.23AW firmware never hung up on me once, so if this does, then it's back to that.

I can conclude that unless all the movie folders in your collection has complete album art, and if you have 10 mins to spare to upgrade, then do so by all means :)

question lang po lalo na sa matagal na gumagamit ng measy

Would you be able to say na it can compete against WD TV, xtreamer and other brands
is it equal or better?

I understand na each brand/model has their own weak and strong points

What port did you use to access the web platform?  On the previous firmware its 8081, now I can't access it using that port.

Tiff - no, I (or rather it), didn't format my HDD during the update. But to be safe and clear though, it can't format it because I disconnected my HDD before I updated it, then reconnected it back after the update.

Im still not satisfied with this new firmware... still lots of Icon issues, annoying samba/BT procesess at EVERY START-UP. Hard disk scanning even the auto scan is "OFF".   External DVD wont eject, you have to disconnect the unit then eject manually from the external DVD eject button.  PREVIEW box is not working on extenal USB connected hard disk.

Some good points however, during playback I never encountered stopping while watching, better GUI but the response is a bit slower.

I hope the software developers would test firmware thouroughly before releasing it....
