Hi guys,

I was able to downgrade my FW back to 6.23 with the instructions from sir garfield.

scrolling is much faster and everything is more responsive than fw8.5

While the unit was apart I enlarged the opening for the IR receiver as well so I don't have to point the remote directly towards the player anymore.

You probably have to force update the FW of the unit.

Hello everybody I just purchased this player 3 days back. At first the firmware was 3.x or something. I tested the playback functions and than upgraded to 8.5 firmware version. Then I got myself a internal harddisk but it is not recognized by the player. I tried another two harddisk 500GB and 2TB but both does not show in the devices list. Do I have to downgrade to 6.23 v or is the player defective. All other functions are working.

Please help

Did you format the HDD using the Measy?

Go to Setup...System...then look under HDD Format if your HDD is visible. Your gonna HDD 1 and HDD 2. One of them should not be Hi Lighted. If both are Hi Lighted (Shade of Gray), it means HDD not recognized. Your next option is try to downgrade 6.23A....2nd option is to unscrew the unit and check if SATA cable is properly connected.

Heloo. I heard from you that you bought the unit from ebay India. So if you can still contact your seller. It's better coz your warranty might be void after force downgrade.

It won't format your hard drive in downgrade.

It did not reformat my Hdd. Also, since you need to open the unit to force downgrade, the hdd was also removed.

How? I think yeah u need to remove the HDD when you downgrade. So after downgrade and putting back all the screw. and then put your HDD back into the slot. Will it reformat automatically your HDD when turn ON?

Mga ka-measy post naman ur comments, experiences, tip or advice in solving my problem with my measy player. Have a measy with the basic firmware 6.23 w/ installed samsung eco green 1.5Tb hdd (1.32TB usable) w/ 182gig free space HDMI-hooked on a Panasonic PDP-PV80, with refresh setting to a 100Hz since ill be using the Measy resolution setting 720p 60Hz or 1080p 60Hz which the monitor can display.

PLAYER SETTING: I watch AVATAR 1080p with 11+ gig in size (for testing), with player settings: Digital noise filter Auto or off, enabled the 1080p 24p or off, output: tried most resolution settings: HDMI auto/ 1080p 60Hz/ 1080p 50Hz even 720p 60Hz.

THE PROBLEM: At start its played smoothly but pass 1hour of the film it hangs, well this problem varies through time, pero eto na ung pinaka mahabang narating ng panunuod ko bago sya mag hang, sometimes it happens 10mins after sometimes 20mins. Also tried some 720p movies (eg. 27 dresses) still the same may time na mag ha-hang sya, some movies natatapos ko with out hanging kaya naguguluhan ako, Kaya mga ka-measy na experience nyo ba itong problemang ito? Input naman mga sirs. Thanks in advance

Mostly i play 720P 4GB movie, di ko pa naman na encounter yung ganto at 1 year usage.

Yes. Stay with 6.23 for now. 8.5 has advantages but speed takes a major hit. Its one of the main reasons why I downgraded back to 6.23

Sorry about that. Just a typo, I thought I typed in "didn't".
The HDD will not be reformatted when downgrading. Sorry for the confusion.

what do you mean by 1.32TB usable? meaning may bad sector ba? kung meron malamang yan ang issue. did you try other movies smooth ba?

try other cables thats the least thing you can do for now.

Boy, am I glad I found you.

I upgraded to 8.5, and found afterwards that there was a web interface for remote control update I should have done before.

Now, I would like to downgrade so I can install that firmware update.

I must say I dont actually like look of the 8.5 gui.
but I did like that now the create new network links worked.

I see you have been emailing or PM'ing others in this thread with downgrade instructions.
