Moving on; tried to transfer to E8HD via SAMBA and was slow as hell!!! Does it support FTP server?

LAN transfer is slow  with measy but isolating and  changing to a CAT5e cable.  I finally got 100 MBPS full duplex, 1080p file transfers improved a bit, but when copying multiple big files between disks:
- forget copying USB as it will be much more slower, and twice the effort (copy to USB disk, copy from USB disk)
- LAN (FTP/SaMBa) can be a pain when it breaks, regardless of SAMBA or FTP, but FTP does have the advantage to max your blocksize (great for big files).
- SATA to SATA copy is best option - I just remove the measy disk from its plastic tray, I connect the disk to my EGREAT R200 SATA port (bare sata connector) and voila, 3GBPS/6GBps file copying works all without a PC.

I checked my Measy and it does not have a bare sata connector.
I dont use SATA to SATA much, but prefer more disk connectors, With  4 x 2TB (8TB) in my EGREAT R200, I get to access more hd library, 1 internal, 1 external 2 USB.

Thanks for the info sir, I have it conneted via wire but it's slow. I don't see any FTP option on the E8HD, I wish I can remove the HDD from it's tray (if you do some back reading, I posted a few pages ago that I got my tray stuck because I din't use a flathead screws) because I have a SATA dock duplicator from measy also :)

Sorry to post again, did anyone tried to use an HDMI switcher with E8HD. I tried (HDMI switcher 5 IN 1 OUT, which came from MEASY also :) but there is no AUDIO coming out. Got an old samsung LCD TV (1 HDMI port) which is connected to the switcher. I tried it only on 2 devices (Apple TV2, E8HD) and the apple works while there's no audio on the E8HD. Tried changing ports (still no audio), check audio settings on E8HD (LPCM is selected) still no AUDIO. Directly connecting it makes the audio works. I'm just puzzled because on the box of the HDMI switcher, it even shows an E8HD connected :(

It may only be me but I'm somehow happy with my file transfer speeds via samba. One thing probably worth noting is that I used a manufactured cat5e cable (not the crimped one).

My setup:
- measy hardwired to my wireless router (100mbps, but I have to check if I'm getting 100 full duplex)
- wireless router is an edimax wireless-N @300mbps (the el cheapo one)
- laptop wirelessly connected at 144mbps.

I'll probably post benchmarks soon. Btw, I'm at 6.23AW. Does 8.80 have youtube already included in the web option? I was able to try 8.95 and it has youtube but had a very buggy BT client, which had me force downgrading back to 6.23AW.

Good for you that you have SAMBA sorted, but I noticed that you are on 6.23AW. I would want to downgrade to 6.23AW but it's a bit complicated :) Probably SAMBA is ok on SAMBA 6.23AW.

Anyone knows when an update is coming?

Lolz ! While other NMT's are busy updating and enhancing their firmware, measy still fails to address the problems thats been bugging our units since the time we bough it.

Thats coming from a user who bought two units :), well at least it comes with a nice remote control :)
measy should at least make them universal to makeup from their poor RND  ;D

How do I properly install a wifi dongle into the Measy player?

I bought a CD-R King dongle and plugged it to the USB port but the player does not seem to detect it.

Help please. Thanks!

The movie goes in slow motion when the video bitrate is too high (30 mbps). Like The Incredibles 1080p, on the 10 min mark it goes slow motion. I tried to remux it but still the same.

I've just downgraded from 9.03 to 8.95R. Audio and subtitle issues are fixed. You can downgrade by using the upgrade firmware option on the gui, no need to disassemble the player.

I'm using a CDRKing LP8617 wifi dongle with my measy. i think i bought it for less than 500. Not all dongles work with measy, i think it has something to do with chipset compatibility.

I replaced the CDR King WS-WN687N1 (worth P380) with LP-8617 (worth P580).

I connected it to my Globe MyFi. It's working fine now. Thanks!  ;D

You might need to force downgrade/update. If you prefer 9.03 FW, which had a bug in the subtitle if movie is embedded. Otherwise if you had SRT file, subtitle is ok.

You can also have the 8.95R Firmware. Link in this thread....No bugz...

I'll email you the procedure...

No news yet. In the meantime, so far firmware 6.23AW, 8.80 or 8.95R is stable.
