Is there a way to install Transmission BT Client on FW 9.06?

in a easy way it is not.

When you install transmission it also installs some library that should be installed in specific systems directory. and FW9.06 is read only so you cant do that.

the only way is to unpack the firmware and add those files manually and repack it.

i have done that with firmware 6.25 but is packed with different file system. i have not tested with the new firmwares due they dont work on my device. if im bored. i will try to do that with firmware 8.95 that works on my device to do the test.

then if i am successful and if am TOOOOO happy for the finding i will repack 9.06

but i really need to learn a lot of things. to do that work.

Hi this is a tuned version it is the firmware V0006.23AW but i have installed Transmission 2.33 Bit torrent client.

1 - To make BT Transmission work. decompress Bt_transmision.zip on your e8hd hard drive.
2 - Reboot the media player This will make when it reboots transition create configuration files.
3 - Edit your configuration files and reboot the media player.

note: i have added a demo directory if you want you can use it as example. and you only do is copy and uncompressed  into the media player hard driver. update the settings.json configuration files for your network configuration.

NOTE: i have added some delay to start transmission so wait about 20 seconds before trying to access into the web interface.

To access transmission web interface http:IP_E8HD:9091
to kill transmission telent the e8hd and run: killall transmission-daemon
to start transmiossion tenlet the e8hd and run: /opt/bin/transmission-daemon

if you need to edit configuration file i recommend to kill first transmission, then do the edition and then restart it. ALWAYS do a BACK UP of the configuration files.

Thanks for the reply... I think Measy should provide you a new unit so that you can edit the other firmware versions 

They told me that i have to send my device to my reseler. it issue was that my releser is in china and im in Argentina (South America) so the shipping will cost more that the actual product. Its a pity but i cant do much, unless i decide to buy a new one and they are not cheap for us here in Argentina.

bro, upgrade fw.

Some routers also require mac address registered to give access. mine i get all wifi devices into my dlink para walang security isssues later.

Mine was version 9.04 and had the same prob as unit14.  Upgraded the firmware to 9.06 and voila!  Problem solved!

the simplest way is to relax your security (disable WEP) for a limited window to check first if your USB dongle works at all.
next enable WEP, force router to give an IP address for your MAC address for BOTH wired and wireless X6 NIC.

i assume other wifi devices can readily connect to the same router, please confirm.
i assume your dongle is seen by X6, working and X6 shows it sees the MAC address.
i assume your router works and DHCP is set correctly, so X6 shows it is assigned by IP by router (as DHCP client).

to the guys that had installed transmission.

i have realize that if you download a movie about 4 gb or bigger it really download slow. and it its not an issue about the seeds of the files.

if i download a movie of 1.7g as an example it does do it very very quck, but if i select big files it is slow.

Little finding that i did not realize before. it seems that when you format the hard drive with the software of the media player it does not only creates one partition

As you can see in the image and the information provided from the device its makes 3 portions on the hard driver 1 es NTFS (where de moves information is downloaded or storage) - 1 Linux Swap file system - 1 Linux ext3 partition of 533mb.

The important thing is this partition Linux ext3 partition of 533mb that is mounted in /tmp/hdd/root

There you can see that is allocated all the software that can be updated though the software menu. like btpd samba.

It seems if we can do som simbolic links to that partition we have an ext3 partitio to stor all king of application. we have 533MB to play arround.

if IP = 127.0.0.1 it has not been assigned yet an IP address.

San mo nakuha X6 mo btw? make sure you have the latest firmware applied v 2.04.

i have these files A.Turtles.Tale.Sammys.Adventure.2010.1080p.BluRay.X264-AVCHD and A.Turtles.Tale.Sammys.Adventure.2010.720p.BluRay.X264-AVCHD. when i play these on my measy, after 30 seconds of the movie, the video (panasonic hdtv) turns green and hangs my measy afterwards. but when i preview them (small screen), it plays smoothly. what could be the problem? i already used mkvtoolnix but still the same.

i was able to resolve this problem when it happened again on my Pirates 4 by TWIZTED (1080p, 11gb). I tried to download another Pirates 4 but this time uploaded by HDChina(720p, 7gb) which has no english subtitle. I used the subtitle by TWIZTED, and when the character talked in english, the screen blackened again then hang my player. The subtitle file are .idx and .sub. I replaced it with a srt file, then the movie played smoothly.
Then i checked my Turtle's tale file and it has the .idx and .sub. Replaced it with the srt then it played. Problem solved!!!

since working na siya off WEP, enable it ulit, this time slowdown to discount typo. Also try the advanced.

on BT, I wont bet on it as a full time torrent unless it runs Transmissions  (a torrent client), but the native is good enough for small DL (< 4GB sized files).

this worked for me..however, after mga 30 mins of trying to browse my PC for movies via network, naghang siya.so nirestart ko yung x6. lo and behold, ayaw na naman magwork nung wpa key input. sira kaya unit ko?this is driving me crazy.anyway i just stuck a cable para wala na problema hehe..

sir, sa measy x6 ko 2 torrents lang ang pwedeng magkasabay pag downloading. nagpe-pending na yung ibang torrents pag nag-add ka pa. napansin ko lang na medyo mabagal ang BT application ng measy x6. yung average download rate ko is around 20-30kbps lang which is waaay far from my download rate pag pc ang gamit.

yun din yung problema ng BT application ng x6 kasi parang hindi reliable pag iniwan mong downloading. ano firmware version pala gamit mo sir?

the fact you reboot, dapat mag restart yung service. dami rin naman ganyan sa Measy e8HD, bago naayos, it goes also with the Measy X6 medjo 1st gen firmware release pa eh, maybe give it time. A few X6 buyers raised similar concern, and i told them until this gets fixed, just enjoy the playback and DL muna from elsewhere. I dunno why pero even sa e8HD ko before, i had to restart several times despite upgrading to the firmware so i embraced the fact it can download, but does not download well. Neighborweb interface right? Seems if you use it with <4gb files,mp3 or dvix movies, you should be fine, anong sizes ba dinadownload mo? I already requested for this, Transmissions sana sa and DL engine ng Measy X6 in the future. I do think very mature na ang transmissions . My other NMT that runs transmissions remains my go-to unit for 1080p HD downloads when i'm away from home. pag balik ko viola, dun a files. Personally, i prefer my laptop over NMT for downloads, kasi you can reset bans and upgrade tracker manually, and you can throttle the upload to 5k/sec for all para di ka magkaproblem during webex meetings/remote desktop  while working from home  Ang pogi pa sa iphone yung transmissions interface (Taken with my other NMT running a stable DL since day 1 i've setup)
