The RV700 is a new Toshiba model which replaces the RV600...I've not seen the RV700 though. The older RV600, however, was a very good model and it looks like the RV700 is also a 32 inch FULLHD model!

It could be worth over the CV700 if you'd game a lot or use those High-Def media players and Blu-Ray which supports a full 1080p resolution...

The 32inch model retails for around 38k, while the 46inch goes for around 90k++

May price na po ba tayo nito Sir Carlo and what's the difference of this model compared sa RV600?

May I know also which one of this choices I had is better, the LG 32LD460, Toshiba 32RV700 or the Samsung C650? Thanks Sir Carlo for future reply.

Depends on what you'd use the T.V for and your budget, but off hand from these choices I'd go for the Sammy C650.

The C650 has a razor sharp picture definition and the best 32 inch FULL HD LCD in it's class.

Both are very good, colors for me, are better on the Toshiba (subjective observation). Best you see them side by side ;)

sorry, got lost there, pls confirm lang:

isn't is that an hd ready unit (cv700) showing 720 will scale up to 1080 (same with rv700) if your source is full hd and will give that signal using hdmi input?  so technically, pantay lang yung dalawa if i use xbox (component) and my media player (hdmi).

for analog cable tv kasi iniisip ko pantay lang since may signal booster na rin.

or is my understanding of hd ready/full hd totally incorrect?

@thenorthface

I don't know if I got your question right but "upscaled" 1080p and true 1080p is something I haven't tried on the Xbox 360. Most games play at 720p anyway, so you can get away with either Toshiba model...

When using components you can only get 720p for both units so they'd come out even.

The difference between the CV and the RV is better appreciated, when you use true FULLHD materials like Blu-Ray and certain native 1080p PS3 games.

@Vanhohenheim

That I was not able to check.

The Xbox360 could go FULL 1080p, provided you have an HDMI connection and a game that supports FULL 1080p like Sacred 2 (If I remember correctly).

@Vanhohenheim

Not sure about the stock level of Sns, you can ask them though ;)

We're talking about 32 inchers here, right? Because as far as I know, 40cv700 is full DH already. The 32 inch variant is just HD ready though.

Yes just the 32inches. I also have a 40inch CV700 which is a FULLHD panel.

Yes just the 32inches. I also have a 40inch CV700 which is a FULLHD panel.

Sir Carlo, I know they're on a different league, but is the 42xl700 worth the extra 30k + over the 40Cv700? (I need to convince my officemate about getting it)

The XL700 is better than the CV700, in all aspects but if you factor "budget". We'll still say that the XL700 is better than the CV700, but is it 30 thousand pesos better? Nope! :D

@Vanhohenheim

The CV700 is a fine TV for gaming even for PS3, as most games are native to 720p anyway ;)

Good point, thanks so much! :)

I agree with Carlo77. Generally, LED is better PQ wise because it gives deeper blacks. And of course the XL700 has features that the cv700 doesn't. On the other hand, some of its features are just identical (i.e. swivel base, 4 HDMI's, etc.). But if there is one thing cv700 has that XL700 doesn't is PIP.

So for 30K add-on? No, I'll pass.

Budget units for movie use:

1)Panasonic 42X20 (I heard that there are units that cost only 29k! No brainer! Plasma is still the best for cable and DVD)

Hi Sir Carlo,

How about for movies from my Xtreamer which are 1080p?
Will the 42X20 still be better or the 40C530?
For TV (digibox and HD from Cignal), DVDs, and downloaded movies (1080p), what would you get if you were me? :P

Thanks!!
