hindi nila kaya yun kasi mahigit 100 thousand daw kalaban nila. wala pa yung WW. hahaha

sila nasa 100 lang.

Then the best strategy really is to funnel the Wildlings through the tunnel.

Otherwise the Wildlings will scale the Wall. The Night's Watch can't protect the entire stretch of the Wall.

I am afraid to discuss because I might just get book spoilers. I appreciate the guys blacking out certain things. Is this thread spoiler safe? I hope discussions are exclusive to tv.

More often than not, the book readers black it out, very respectful naman sila sa tv viewers only.

Yup, agree.. Thats the reason why the Eyre is a very good defensive outpost. its because they have the bloody gate, ewan ko lang kung bakit closing the tunnel is what Jon Snow has in his mind..

There's been a sharp rise in people naming their children after Game of Thrones' characters. Ever since the famous series of books reached HBO and became a smash-hit, the inhabitants of Westeros and beyond have become part of popular culture.

Unsurprisingly, the most popular name so far is Arya - named after Arya Stark - with 1,135 babies in the US alone this year. If they don't give their child a massive dog called The Hound to protect their kid, they're totally missing a trick.

Following that is Khaleesi with 241. Khaleesi is the Dothraki word for 'Queen' and is what Daenarys is usually referred to. Daenarys is the next most popular name with 63.

You've also got Brienne's, Robb's, Theon's and even Tyrion's - but no Hodor's and no Stannis's. Which totally blows.

A high school batchmate of mine named his first daughter Daenarys. The cute little girl was born towards the end of Season 1. :)

about jon snow's suggestion to block the tunnel, i think the reason for that is because the Wall itself is already a very good barrier (quite difficult to scale, otherwise the wildlings would have already done it en masse.) check out season 3 episode 6 - "The Climb"

the tunnel, while good for funneling the attackers, might still possibly be overrun with enough force and/or weak defenders. mind you, the night's watch isn't exactly westeros' most elite. it's possible that it might be easier to pick on those struggling wall climbers than to face them head-on at the tunnel.

Also, I don't think it's a tunnel small enough to funnel the army through it. If it gets broken down, the horde that will get through it can easily overwhelm the night's watch.

According to George R.R. Martin, he writes these books on a DOS machine and he uses WordStar 4.0.

He hates the "helpful" features of today's word processors, "If I wanted this in capital, I'll type it in capital. I know how to use a Shift key."

That's really good to know, hipster pala tong si Martin.

Aabutan talaga. It takes him 3- 4 years to finish a book. And he's also working with HBO on the show (he writes at least one episode per season).

It's more out of habit and security, especially since naka-DOS siya and hindi naka-connect sa internet, walang danger magkaron ng virus or ma-hack. ;D

baka green pa yung monitor niya and dot matrix ang printer. ilan 5.25-inch floppy disks kaya ang kailangan niya para ma-save yung isang book? :)

Or you can use a regular computer and don't connect it sa internet in any way if security nga ang reason. I think it's more of being a habit, a habit of being a hipster. Haha

idk... Wordstar was mainstream during GRRM's time, so it makes no sense to say that he's a hipster just because he hasn't kept up with the times.

whatever works. some writers still only use a typewriter.

You said it yourself, Wordstar WAS mainstream during his time. It's the now that matter. Plus, being a hipster is not so much of a bad thing so I don't see why you have to oppress my opinion so bad.

"just because he hasn't kept up with the times."

I'm not sure if that's really the case though, it's not even stated that it's the main reason why he's using that sort of thing. Kanina sabi mo because of security, now it's because he can't keep up with his time. Ano ba talaga? Haha.

All I can say is spectacular. Loved how the look of glee on the Oberyn stakeholders transformed into horror with the unthinkable. There is a possibility (for tv viewers) that Oberyn got what he wanted.
