Oklahoma (1955)

Great musical to revisit, nice special features about Todd-AO. The restored THX version on the first DVD is from the 35mm Cinemascope. The Todd-AO version on the 2nd DVD is not as clear but they did film this movie twice for each version which took advantage of the strengths of Cinemascope and Todd-AO.

Phonetic subtitles make a good primer for the upcoming Duck season.  ;)

Racing Stripes (2005)

Another revisit, nice funny feel good movie featuring a young Hayden Panettiere riding a Zebra in a race for the Kentucky Crown.

Superman: Doomsday

Based on the popular comic book mini-series. There were some minor storyline revisions but the kids couldn't care less. My youngest one almost cried when Superman died.  ;D

Total Recall (2012) - Very much different story from the original Schwarzenegger version.  Mars wasn't in any relation to this movie although Quaid mentioned it once.  Kate Bickensale had the role as the wife turned assassin in this movie who maintained her tenacity throughout the movie.  Inasmuch as I liked the former version better, this one can hold on its own. Forget about the original to enjoy this movie.  There were a lot of dark scenes and the audio definitely would give your sub and surrounds a good workout.

The Devil's Advocate

A must-see favorite from the 90's. Keanu Reeves stars as Kevin Lomax, an up and coming lawyer hired by a leading New York-based law firm run by the fallen angel himself. Al Pacino gives another outstanding performance.

Evil Dead (2013)- seems like I was watching the original version. Gorefest! Loved the cutter-licking scene!  :P

The King and I (1956)

The late night movie, Deborah Kerr segue (from last night's "An Affair to Remember").
Another great from Rodgers and Hammerstein.

Identity Thief (2013)- "How can you expect a criminal to just surrender and go with you?" Moronic plot but entertaining.

The Eddy Duchin Story (1956)

Rex Thompson segue to last night's ("The King and I" where he played Louis Leonowens and Peter Duchin aged 12 in this movie).

Nth view, requested segue after we talked about Rex Thompson at last night's late night movie. Great piano soundtrack by Carmen Cavallero. The DVD holds out well on PQ and AQ (5.1 DD). This would look and sound great on blu.

State Fair (1962)

The requested late night movie. Another Rodgers and Hammerstein musical and a remake of the 1945 version.

While not as familiar to us as the others in the box, it has some very familiar songs. Fun watch.
