A Tale of Two Sisters (2003) -- not as terrifying as I expected but definitely this movie has substance with a twist in the end.  More in the line of The Others and Sixth Sense.  ;)

Jerry Maguire (1996)--together with Bruce Springsteen's Secret Garden, Jerry Maguire is one of my favorite movies that I could just go over and over.  Perfect to watch again with high school and college friends.

The Descent Part 2 (2009)--   Sarah the only survivor from the 5 spelunkers went back again with a rescue team to look for her other companions. The rescue mission turned into a bloodbath as they encounter those cave creatures again.

I must say that this is a very good sequel from the first. It will make you jump from your seat. If you are looking for a gorefest, watch Part 1 and 2 successively.

Just noticed that the creature in descent resembles Bram Stoker's Dracula in the 1992 movie.

Family (2013)-- the movie is about a Mafia boss' family (Robert de Niro as the father) who testified against the mob and is now on a witness protection program somewhere in Normandy. Being new to the place, they try hard to blend in but old habits never die--assaulting disagreeing people, exploding grocery stores, etc. Everything was going well, until they were discovered by the same people they put to jail.

It is an adult comedy. As me and my wife had some chuckles, my 10 year old goes "what's so funny?".   :P The funny thing is how the family try to act normal and try hard not to go back to their old ways. The casting was great with Robert de Niro (always perfect for a Mafia comedy movie) teamed with Michelle Pfeiffer. Interesting and entertaining!

The Heat (2013)-- a brilliant, straight FBI agent (Bullock) partnered with an obnoxious, uncouth detective (McCarthy) cracks a case together.  They have some differences that needed to be straightened out in order to work cohesively.  The start of the movie had a late 70's to 80's feel--very Cagney and Lacy.  Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy seemed perfect for their roles.  The two really gave us the laughs. It is a fun filled movie just take out the curses which wouldn't be a suitable watch for young kids.

Empire of the Sun

A coming of age story of an English boy who was accidentally left behind by his parents in Shanghai at the start of World  War II. A Spielberg classic in which Christian Bale debuted as the Jamie/Jim.

The Hunt for Red October

The first Tom Clancy novel to be adapted into a movie. Like any other adaptions, it slightly veered off from the novel to make the story pace faster. My only complaint is the DVD format is non anamorphic widescreen.
