Topic: 2yr old HT-Z210 already busted?!

Disc Error. Only two years old, seldom used (once a month at most!). Only used original DVDs.

Defect: SMPS & Assay Deck
Quoted amount by Samsung Service Center: 2,184p(SMPS), 1,931(Assay Deck) + 650p(labor).

Should I have it repaired of just buy a new DVD player?

With that amount you can already purchased a bnew pioneer 420 that retails around 5k.

you can purchase a new and better DVD player with less than what you will pay for getting it fixed. you can still retain it for the audio just make sure the DVD player has optical out.

agree on the audio.  the z210 works well with the dts issues of wdtv.  you can use it with that.

^When you load the dvd, it will play for a few minutes tapos napuputol-putol na hanggang sa mag-hang na sya. When you reload it again, 'disk error' na.

I dunno, I was at the office nung dumating taga Samsung.

I have that same error 3 months after I bought the player. Even original dvds won't play. Just played my original and very reliable (Pearl Harbor)DVD twice and the problem went away.

Try finding an original DVD that will work fine with it. Then play it multiple times. i know this sounds like a stupid suggestion, but it worked with my player. Since we assume its already broken it won't hurt to try wild experiments

And my player is still running smoothly although I now use it rarely because of the nmts.

Bro. try to manually clean the lens muna kung marunong ka, ganyan din nangyari sa Xenon (china DVD player)  na binigay na sa akin ayaw mag play ang disc nung malinis ng "buds" yung lens bigla naka read na. Wala naman masama kung i-try mo. Para nga kasing malabo na sira SMPS (power supply???), siguro pwede pa lens assembly...tapos sobra mahal ng total repair cost..

Just had my z210 fixed sa service center near Muñoz. Had my lens replaced for 1.3k and free labor. Name of the place was Bioflash Cinema. Try to contact them at 373-2822.
