my friend bought an integrated single ended tube amp there for 12k, ok naman so far, he's been playing it for 4 hrs straight a day at di pa naman nasisira (its just a 10 watter though). Sound quality is good for the price but haven't heard the ones they offer 20k (50 watts x 2 daw), just make sure your speakers are quite efficient and as much as possible test it with them and see if it mates well. his speakers are 95 dB btw :)

Hello tatalope,

Welcome!

Since your new here at PinoyDVD, I guess you are still  not familiar with Hyperaudio.  He is the Tube God.  Sales, repairs, modifications, upgrading and even home made tube amplifiers is his business.

Nobody knows tubes better than this guy.

Send him an e-mail or P.M.

Try to visit Hyperaudio's shop and he can explain to you the difference between tube and SS. He has several gears that would fit your budget and preferences. I suggest you  research and auditon further before buying. It took me 6 months before buying an Integrated Amp because I want to know first what I am buying. You can call Hyperaudio (Rene) thru 8325710.

hey tatalope,

Good to hear you are also into LPs!  :)

You definitely have to visit the one and only Tube God.  He can tell you, and most importantly, let you hear why Analog (LPs) and Tubes is a match made in heaven.

Another place to look is http://www.wiredstate.com/pinoydiophiles .  There is a Buy & Sell section there.

Last I checked, there was a sub PhP15k Dynaco stereo integrated amp from Toobs.  I've a similay model at Hyperaudio's place and they'd be sure to kick butt!

Phasetron tube amp feedback pls.
I've been searching the threads but can't find any on the matter. I heard about Phasetron, Park Square I selling local tube amps P15k below.

Any thoughts? Any current users of this amp? I only have space for bookshelf speakers.

Last time I asked, they didn't have it in stock.  May available pa kaya?

When you go to Phasetron, look for Andrew Sevilla.  He is the owner and the designer/maker of those tube amps.

Have you tried inquiring/visiting Hyperaudio.  He too sells tube amps.

It may be more expensive but its worth it. Try to visit him and audition some of his for sale items. How about the tube amps of Corrsty? I think its available at Architectural Audio.

:)Have positive experience with Phasetron tube products. I once had their tube preamp that sounded almost as good as my Audio Research LS-7. I've used it for more than five(5) years (until I regretfully sold it to someone) and during this period it neither broke down nor needed tube replacement.

Currently, my reference is a Phasetron single-ended integrated amp based on EL34(super triode-connected) with 5U4GB rectifier and 12AX7A driver. This one is custom-made by Andrew Sevilla to my parts specs and was assembled in his FTI plant that mainly manufactures professional audio equipment for the export market!

Yes, there are many locally assembled tube amps but I prefer those from Phasetron because aside from their good sound, their fit and finish are exemplary - making others look like high school electronics project. And of course the price - it's the most reasonable of all! :D
Listen to the music...not to the equipment!

Has anyone tried the tube amps labeled Acoustic Fidelity being sold by Pacific Electronics at raon and Robinson's Manila? I'm not sure if they're locally made. They have el34 and kt88 amps going for around 25K and a mono kt88 for 15K. I haven't listened to them but I like the way they look with really nice potted transformers and brushed aluminum face plate.

called up pacific electronics at raon to inquire about prices/models. apparently, the amps are from china but are locally assembled.

no integrateds. preamp costs 11k, push-pull power amp (@ 40 w) costs 25.5 and a set amp costs (@ 8 w) costs 35.5.

Kaya ba ng 8w Phasetron tube amp ang Wharf 8.1?

I have a small room and neighbors to annoy anyway.

from what i've been reading, tube amps are best matched with higher sensitivity speakers. i have a pair of wharfedale 3's with 86db so that makes us seatmates on the same boat (and the same number of neighbors to annoy ;)
