...Decision was based on versatility of function since I have future plans of using the TV to play mkv files.

But the X20 will blast an LCD to oblivion in terms of mkv playback.   ;)

One question though...what's the difference, if any, between the C530 & C550 models?

USB WLAN Support for All Share...other than that, I can't see any difference... :)

Sir, Baka what he meant is he'll be playing mkv files directly on the TV. I agree though that the X20 is better as far as mkv playback is concerned. I both have a plasma(2008 model) and a LCD(2010 model) and for future purchases I don't think I'll be buying LCD tv any time soon. Its just me though.

Nah, they won't kill you, they'll (x20 fans) just visit your house at around midnight. Bash your head with that Samsung TV of yours and show you - Your torn splattered head! Via the reflective screen of the X20, in all it's 720p glory! (They could have shown it to you at 1080p but the x20 is better at it's native rez)

 ;D ;D ;D

Just kidding, if your happy, then we're happy (I know of a good security company, in-case you feel jumpy in the next few days).

Hahahaha (penguin goes back to his cognac)

Panasonic X20

-Green ghosting/Phosphor lag during FPS games and movies with high contrast areas
-Mild image retention after games and/or letterbox movie watching
-Reflective screen

i just want to ask if these cons are damage to the unit due to gaming or just a temporary thing?  if temporary, how bad is it?  yung tipong nakakainis ba?

i am planning to buy x20 also because of the price but will be used mainly for gaming (fps) at night, watching tv by day and yet due to the issues above, i am thinking of 42LD640 with a higher price tag.  sayang din kasi yung difference if bearable naman yung cons.

thanks.

@vinci

Did a video on the Phosphor lag about a year ago...

Here it is:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jm63BEhHWUk

Do note that the camera is making the green trails look worse than it actually is! However, it's there and when you know how to look for it, you'll always see it.

All my plasma units are affected by this "lag", it's not a defect but rather a limitation of the technology.

C550 has DLNA capability, you need to buy separate dongle for this.  Asked a lot of salesman about the difference between C530 and C550 series and no one really knew.  Even the people at Sights & Sounds and Listening in Style couldn't answer or were too lazy to answer.

I think C550 have motion plus and internet capability. 2 features which you dont probably need.
