CDR king enclosures, according to them, can only accommodate 160GB HDDs and below

for higher capacity HDDs, i would like to get my hands on this for myself

Instead of SATA enclosures from CDRking, I used the HDD dock of CDRking. Been using for more than 2 years. No problem encountered up to 2TB. HTH. ;)

Hi!  Did you install pre-formatted HD on the CDRKing SATA HDD Dock?  I bought 1 recently including a 2TB Hard Drive for use with it but I can't seem to format the drive properly using the dock.

I'm using a mac by the way so I tried to do the formatting from OSX and also tried using Win 7 (via bootcamp) and both were unsuccessful.  Did you encounter such issues?

Honestly, natatakot akong bumili ng ganyang gamit sa CDRKing,
I would not gamble on it, medyo dala na ako sa mga tinda nila,
ang tanging binibinili ko sa kanila ay blank CD and DVD na lang...

I chose the Astone as an enclosure sa 3.5 SATA HD ko,
mainly used as a backup lang naman ng drive na nakasaksak sa NMT ko,...

gamit ko yung silver na 3.5 SATA+IDE na up to 1TB daw ang supported

Ang issue lang sa akin is kapag malaking file ang kinokpya, nawawala connection in the middle of copying, parang nag-re-reset

For the times na na-format ko yung drive, same problems ang na-experience ko like yours.  Copying big files stops in the middle and pauses for a long time, then I have to reset it manually.  Pero I'm just talking about files in mb sizes, what more ang mga video files na super laki.  :(

Mukhang gamble nga... I guess I was just attracted by the very good price.  Will bring it back to the store for replacement na lang.  Incidentally, I saw a similar SATA HD dock from astone, di ko lang natanong ang price.  Might just buy those branded ones.

What size of HD are you using them with?

I had one of those aluminum looking CDR king enclosures before. It actually smoked in front of my eyes when i turned it on one time.

Hugot plug kaagad!!!

It seems the circuit board (where the switch is connected) was the culprit.

In my case, never again. I'd rather shell out for the better made, branded enclosures.

Hi sir,...

2 Astone enclosures na 3.5 SATA, isang 2TB na Samsung HD and isang 2TB na Western Digital HD...
kung may USB 3.0 na ang motherboard mo, or kung may USB 3.0 na ang PC mo, I would suggest na yun na ang hanapin mo na Astone, sulit sya sa transfer, twice the speed ng USB 2.0...

cheers sir....

I have 3 320GB HDDs in a CDRKing enclosure. Not one of them was identified in XP, Win7 and Linux. Had 2 different HDDs that stopped working in the same enclosure. Never again!  >:(

Thanks sir!  Unfortunately, I use a mac and it does not come with USB 3.0.  Hoping that there will be some thunderbolt to USB3.0 or thunderbolt to e-Sata adapters coming out in the future para magamit ko naman ang interface na ito.

Anyway, update on my issue with the SATA HDD Dock... I brought it back to CDR King today with the intention of changing it for another item.  What happened was the technician got another unit and tested it with my 2TB hard drive and it worked!  Looks like my problem was with bad hardware.  I am now able to copy large files > 4GB to the new HD without any hiccups!  ;D

Also bought SATA HDD Dock as replacement for the enclosure which does not work on my 1TB HDD. So far ok naman un dock. No problems encountered.
