I see a lot of tuners being sold at the FS section. Maybe we should also give it a separate thread for some discussions..
Be it solid state, tube, surplus, transistorized (meron pa ba nito?) or what have you.
Basta radyo, dito.

Let me start with my favorite.. some describe it as legendary

SANSUI TU-717

this is the best description I’ve read that would describe the unit.

Eto, pang feel good na lang. Ganyan ko rin nabili unit ko. In pesos lang nga.

Thats a very nice TU-717 Sir, talagang hard to find great classic na yan. MAGNUM DYNALAB & BURMESTER are great modern tuners but are quite expensive. I still used one in my bedroom a Rotel RT-845AX also a simple oldie but still works fine w/ a powered TERK antenna

I wish i have one separate tuner.
I have a receiver luxman 2030 w tuner function but is faulty so not in active use.
Wish list: luxman 110 ( actually on sale now for 600 sing$)
Sansui 555 ( looks pa lang gusto ko ng bilin, kaya lang hard to find talaga)
Marantz tube tuners( price limiting lang)

depende sa station signal at quality ng unit. advantage ng analog pwede e-finetune sa exact frequency...

Hi dieseldust,
Thank you for posting. No, your question is not OT. As I mentioned in my first post, this is a sharing and discussion thread about tuners (radio) in general.

I don’t have a pair “golden ears” so parehas lang sa akin yan be it analog or digital. I agree with sir audiojunkie’s comment that it will depend on the signal (strong) and quality of the tuner’s receiver. But that’s only half of the equation. For you to be able to enjoy this good signal, you will need good amplification and speakers to complete your listening experience. But then again, “mas magandang tumunog” is very subjective and will depend on your set of ears. Yung iba nga, transistor pa lang ang gamit, happy na.

Going back to your question, my subjective answer will be, i feel comfortable knowing i’m listening to analog . The manual fine tuning of the station signal gives me the feeling that i’m a part of the system. Pag nakita ko malakas ang signal and the fine tuning meter ay nasa sentro na, stereo indicator on, tapos ang boxing. The rest of the system takes over. But this is just me.. others might have a different point of view.

Tama ka Sir. Swak na swak iyan. Ang problema ko lang sa mga napupuntahan kong surplus stores hindi pa ako ni minsan nakatiyempo ng Denon na tuner.

analog and digital tuners have come and gone. heathkit tube (super ganda kaya lang nagdi-drift stations pag nag-init tube, nakamichi st7, quad fm3, sansui t60, technics analog/digital (forgot the model),etc among my faves- kenwood kt615 and sansui slim(forgot exact model)- both analog.

May advantage ang digital tuner dahil sa quartz lock.

Ang analog tuner, nagkakaroon ng AM/FM drift paminsan-minsan. Eksakto ang tapat mo ng dial sa station, tapos papangit ang reception, lumihis pala. Itatatapat mo na naman nang eksakto. Lilihis na naman.

To eliminate drift, nagkaroon ng hi-tech analog tuner with quartz lock, to lock the tuned radio station in place.

Nang lumabas ang digital tuners, lahat ng digital tuners naka quartz lock na.
