DVI is video only.  Kailangan mo maglagay nang separate cable for sound (analog stereo or spdif).

Generic dvi to hdmi from cd king do not pass through audio. Only ati adapters 4000 series and up and some nvidia 460 adapters output hdmi audio. if you have the budget pwede kang bumili bagong pc with sandy bridge processor. it has an hdmi input plus a build in video card right on processor. how cool is that?
or you can try finding this :
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814999010

you can ask www.tipidpc.com dyan ako bumili ng adapter.

Note TV usually dont accept 1080P from other connectors other than HDMI. Its a licensing piracy protection thing.

For sound, you need to get this from a sound card - maybe you can use a USB soundcard / DAC to get 5.1 to your TV if this accepts optical or coaxial (assuming your USB card has the coaxial output).

??? dude no. TV's will accept any dvi to HDMI because there basically the same signal.  both are digital so the can pass HDCP. In fact DVI was the predecessor to HDMI.
I can connect my pc to TV via a DVI to HDMI and it will do 1080p.

Ang alam ko ALL DVI cannot pass through audio (Digital Visual Interface nga ang DVI, not designed to carry audio).  So hindi ito fault nang CDR-King cable.

It is true a regular DVI to hdmi cannot pass through audio but ATI's adapter is different. What it does is it tell the video card to handle the DVI as an  HDMI, that's how it passes audio.
I've used it on my htpc and it works; no bitream though you need a 5000 series for that.  It only works with ATI video cards. I think the new nvidia GTX460 can do the same.

HIS ati adapter can pass audio:
"Enjoy the ultra-high definition video and audio HDMI delivers"
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814999010

It does not really matter now as most AMD/ATI cards today have an hdmi port.

na check ko yung acer  laptop ni txtus. video card is a nvidia graphics 7000 i do not think it will pass audio.
maybe a usb DAC can help?
