I was thinking along the lines kasi of having a region free dvd player that doubles as a backup BDP. ;D

For a back-up player, this is certainly worth considering. ;)

Has anybody tested BD Region B yet?
In case it's already multi-region out of the box, we won't need remote codes.

Unfortunately, the one we suppose to borrow turn out to be a "region free" BD. ;D

Is there anyone that can lend us his BD region B? Will be great if we can test it out & verify if the player is BD multi-region. :)

Please try this new Hack I got:
Turn on unit
Eject Tray
Hit Set Up
Press Numbers 8520
For DVD Press 0 All Regions
Press OK
Hit Set up
This makes DVD's Region Free

For Blurays
As Above.
You will see second box with the letters
according to where you live A or B
Press Number 1 For Region A USA Discs.
Press Numbers 2 For Region B. UK Europe & Australia
Press Number 4 Foe Region C China etc.
This works 100%
You can now play either.
Press OK then Setup and you are ready.

and Moks Thanks for trying, will try to look for mor ehacks, and of course the  easiest really is to get hold of a Region B BD and Region C, and if it's region free we don't need the hack anymore.(although it might be better sicne upgrades at times reverts back the hack)  ;)

Addedum:
Here's another:
(1) Open the disc draw.
(2) Push 91130 = All-Region for DVD
(3) Push 91131 = Region A for BD
(4) Push 91132 = Region B for BD

It won't work.  :D

I also don't think it will work kc from what I read any remote hack is usually meant for the DVD (convert to multi or all region). As for BD hack, it usually needs a hardware mod.

I tried this and it won't work. :(.. I don't think this player can be hacked bec. when you punch in the number pad it keeps giving you "prohibited"..Hay sayang, but I'm not giving up haha..But overall naman pretty nice player.

I'm trying to google, "region free hack for taiwan bd player", but I'm having a hard time finding a hack. :(

Thanks pchin. :)

By the way madaming stock sa Robinson's Pioneer sa Boni. Dun ako bumili pwede pa credit card. :)

Can I ask 2 favours please.
1) Can we have some detailed photographs so that I can check on the web against other countries cheap players. We may be able to use the code if the player is identical.
Can we try to keep posts in English so that I can stay updated, and so be able to contribute and hopefully help.
Thank you.

Another option would be to ask CD-R King how to make the player region-free.  CD-R King in turn asks the Chinese manufacturer (They won't tell us which manufacturer it is, since that's their trade secret).  Once CD-R King gets the info, they relay it to us, and we leak the info on pinoydvd.

But first things first --- let the users test other regions first, because it may already be region-free out of the box.

Ako naman ang nag-google:

Manufacturer is Shenzhen Sea Star Technology Co., Ltd.:

Looks very similar.

Today I tested the following BDs for their "resume playback" functionality on the CDRK BDp:

Fantastic 4
Hairspray
Pixar's Up
Sound of Music

Overall, all the above discs work fine with the "resume" function. Having said that, there are slight differences in the way the "resume" function works:

Fantastic 4 & Hairspray:
Film is playing. Press STOP. Press PLAY. The film resumes playback immediately from where it last stopped. However, the "resume" function will be aborted once you open the disc tray or remove the disc from the player. Hence, when you re-insert & play the disc again, it will start from the beginning.

I also tested both discs in my PS3. Not only the "resume" function works perfectly, even I ejected or removed the disc totally from the PS3, upon inserting the disc back, it jumps directly to the point I last watched...that's cool!  :D

Pixar's Up & Sound of Music:
Film is playing. Press STOP. Press PLAY. The film loads & update notice or studio logo appears on screen. Then you're prompted if you wish to "resume playback". The same thing will occur if I remove the disc & then play again.

I tested them on my PS3 but same result unlike the above Fantastic 4 & Hairspray where they would automatically play where you last left without prompting for any action.
