Looks like Philip (anya) got serious competition...

Well...Anya's selling branded players at a very good price....only problem is that it's 110v and region lock. :-\

As for this player, I have a feeling they are the same as teh Austrailian Bluray players, since they came in DVD regionfree.

May I request those who bought to try the remote hack posted below:
1. Switch on the player
2. Open the DVD door
3. With the remote enter 9735
4. A menu list appears on the left
5. Scroll up or down for the region setting
6. Select Region setting and then move right into the list of available regions
6. Select region 0 for multiregion
7. Exit set up

or

1. Turn on the player.
2. Press the home/setup button and release. Enter 9-1-1-3 on the number
pad.
3. "Configure player" appears in the wheel menu to the left of the screen.
Using the up or down arrow button on your remote, navigate to it and press
enter.
4. Three menus appear on a blue background in the centre of the screen:
DVD Region, BD Region, and BD Profile. Select the one you want and press
enter.
5. A grey menu appears in the centre showing the various regions. Navigate
to the one you want and press enter.
6. Exit the grey menu by pressing the left arrow key, then press it again to
exit the blue menu. The screen will appear as it did in step 3 before you
pressed enter.
7. Open the drawer and put in your foreign disc. Wait a little bit. When it's
ready, the disc's main menu appears. Play the disc like you would any disc.
8. Consider yourself fortunate: You're now able to play foreign DVDs
AND foreign Blu-rays on your basic North American player.

my HTIB samsung model HTZ-222 doesn't have coaxial and HDMI-in as well   :(

Oh well, it seems I'm not yet going into the blu-ray club.

To add a couple more ;D. I notice the led display in the player is only up to 4 digits. So if you are in 1:05:21 time, the display will read 05:21. Also when closing the tray, CLOSE is spelled CLOS ;D..If you guys are particular about these. ;D

Nice observation Ray! ;D I have also tested those BDs mentioned by barrister, all of them work fine in the player. :)

I also tested Inception & it was fine too. The Inception BD-Live plays well too without any problem. The resume function in Sound of Music works fine too. :)

In general, I usually don't play BD-Live in my BDs as I find the downloading & waiting time is too long...and I'm very impatient hehe.

That's why I keep advising newbies to avoid Samsung BD players.  Samsung is notorious for playback unreliability.

Does this mean CD-R King BD playback is more reliable than Samsung?  :o

F4 Silver Surfer & Day After Tomorrow - check; Avatar - check; T2 Skynet - check ... ayos, a!  8)

Let's just hope the studios don't author any more new discs with BD-J & DRM that are too hard to handle. Noise and heat --- OK lang yan.  At that price, it's hard to complain.

From the reports of our esteemed beta testers, I'd say this player is good value for money.

This CDR BDp has been performing well...so far so good. Tested all the above films including Inception, all can play properly. Yup, at such price, I can't complain. :)

Last night I used the unit for almost 3.5 hours & the heat is still minimal. I threw in many other BDs both old & new, not a single problem...zip...nada. :)

Btw, it's confirm that its USB port accepts FAT32 format only. Oh well, we have our dedicated NMT to fall back...  :D

can it play multiple mkv files in sequence?
say, i split my >4 GB mkv into multiple <4 GB files using a tool like mkvmerge, is it possible to queue all the smaller files so that BDp will play them one by one?

Yes, during the testing, I used the same memory stick & reformatted it to NTFS. The player can't read it. Then I reformatted it back to FAT32, it works fine.

If you can provide me a sample file, I can test it for you. You can PM me for the meet up. :)

For mkv and the other files, I will just use  nmt. For Bd viewing, this player is pretty good bec. of its price.

I won't count that as a negative.  Panasonic BD65 can't play NTFS on USB either, same as other branded BD players.

I also tested Inception & it was fine too. The Inception BD-Live plays well too without any problem. The resume function in Sound of Music works fine too. :)

Thanks for the info!

Take note, fellow members: Samsung chokes on the Inception BD, but CD-R King can play it just fine.

My Inception BD is yet to arrive & if not for my brother's kindness, (he's sending me a Sony 470 soon) I would've bought this CD-R King BD player.

Samsung says they have a firmware update for that, but I doubt it fixed it because I still keep hearing complaints from other forums over their sammy's and inception BDs.

If it did, bitrates would not be a problem since this baby already supports plays BD's.  ;D

hehe thanks sir. Actually the lady at cdrking told me I can replace this item within 7 days. She said you can change it to other items. But you guys have to reconfirm this bec. maybe she just want to make the sale. Anyway, I had more guts buying this player after what she said. ;D Yun lang when you change it, you still have to consume the 3990 pesos.

Also the best deal is you can use cash or credit card, same price 3,990. ;)

So far so good ;D, this is the first time I really believe in their products. Selectively, I guess. I always have this thought that their products conk out right away. :'( ;D

As for the 7-day replacement period, you're right. They gave me the same term + 6-month warranty period. So it's a peace of mind knowing they gave such assurance. We have time to kill & torture it further hehe ;D

Wow imagine if this player can play BD multi-region, it's like a new world of opportunity! :P

Last night I tested the BD-Live in both Terminator 2 (Skynet Edition) & Sound of Music  and I'm pleased to inform they all function properly. :) However, here are some comments on the respective BD:

Sound of Music:
Unfortunately, only the Characters live info works. Other BD-live features I'm unable to access them. A notice appears on my screen "This feature is not supported by your country". Geez...I didn't know there is such thing in BD-Live. This is a disc related problem & not the fault of the player. Anyone heard of similar situation?

Terminator 2 (Skynet Edition):
The moment the BD Live starts in can identify which country you're from. In this case, my location is in the Philippines & luckily it's out of Skynet target range. ;D There is also a notice appears "Skynet has detected program updates & will automatically install them." Once the update is done, the rest is quite smooth.

Since I'm impatient, I find the loading & downloading time a painful experience. It's quite frustrating waiting for the streaming, downloading, etc to be completed. Hence, I usually stay away from BD-Live. ;D

There you go. So far so good. Both Raymond & myself threw in as many BDs as we can & the results are the same, this CDR King BDp is indeed one tough guy! At P3,990 I'd say it passes with flying color. :D

Just be aware of any loose sheets of paper in the box. These may have codes on them for multi region playback.

There's no need to replace now since you already have a BDp. However, assuming your Tosh conks out (knock 2x) in the future, then you may want to consider this CDRK BDp. :)

Huh? I didn't know cd-r king does credit sales already. Ugh, this is bad for me wallet :-[

Oh think at the bright sides, it's much affordable to own a BDp now. Think of all the amount you will save as compare to other brand that could easily cost around 7k to 10k. ;D

I was thinking along the lines kasi of having a region free dvd player that doubles as a backup BDP. ;D

Has anybody tested BD Region B yet?

In case it's already multi-region out of the box, we won't need remote codes.
