Sana! We'll just have to wait for someone to test it out. Kung region-free na sa BD ibenta ko na yung BDP-160 ko  ;D ;D ;D

Or baka it can read NTFS drives na rin, which would make it a great (and cheap) NMT.

I've been using the 160 for a few months now with no major issues. I have the coaxial connected to my Yamaha 5.1 system and everything sounds great. The only issue is the firmware update, there seems to be none available.

Based on the product pages, the remote controllers for the 160 and 190 are exactly the same. Di ko lang alam kung pareho GUI nila.

Hmmm... Sana naman region free para makaplay ako ng regionfree discs...

Ok, I just have to ask. Noob na kung kung noob pero hindi ko talaga alam. Hehe. So, diba Region A yung CDRking Bluray Player sa BD, kapag region free disc (like yung mga binebenta sa marketplace), hindi magpe-play? Thanks sa sasagot.
May you get everything you want, but nothing that you need.

As I understand... a region free Blu-ray disc can play at any BD player device. hth.  :)

I used to think it was Shenzhen Sea Star, but now I think it could be Kingstronic.

Maybe the true OEM is actually Kingstronic, and Sea Star is also a rebadged Kingstronic:

Baka yung Kingstronic lang ang talagang region-free.

Ang Kingstronic K-BD160, region-free sa specs.  Pero yung CD-R King BDP-160, confirmed na region-locked:

Hi! I'm not sure if somebody already tested this player for Region B BDs. I do some testing today in CDR king Robinson Forum for both Region A and B and the results are:

Region A (The Darknight) - Works Great same results i got from my Sony PS3 and Samsung BD-C6900
Region B (Rocky Balboa) - Does not play the message is " Region B cannot be play on this player"   same message i got from my PS3 and Samsung player when i try to play this disc.

Definitely this player is not a multi-region unless you hack it  ;)

Based on that, I guess the CD-R King BDP-190 is also region-locked.

Baka mas maganda pa yung CD-R King player.

If you want NAS functionality, get a more expensive player with that feature.

Model number is also BD 2000.

bought hp bd-2000 yesterday at cdrking rob lipa branch at 4,180...the player is fast it only took 5-10sec to load my RED bluray movie. pq and sq is astounding on my sony 42in lcd hooked via hdmi...the downside is playing video via usb..doesn't support audio format like mp3.have to convert the videos audio first para magka sound. sana magkaroon ng firmware update for mp3 support for this unit.i have 1week replacement to burn test this unit and 6months service warranty.the unit is region locked 3 for dvd and A for blu-ray. pressing the home button and 8,5,2,0 will show the factory settings but cannot be modified.still looking for ways to make it multi region....

3 variants, 160, 190 & bd-2000
no NTFS Hard drives
no mkv's >>4GB via usbstick since fat32 only
no mp3 for the HP-BD2000-lite-on model
sucky MKV player, header compression issue, etc
region locked?
6 month warranty (gudluck!)

get this if you have lots of BD discs and low on cash....otherwise, go for an LG brand or an NMT

Has anybody been able to check if this player can recognize EXT3/EXT4 filesystems (linux)?

The significance of this is that you could then play files larger than 4GB.
