Just got an R1-ii yesterday ... (thanks sir toys4geeks + sir annot!
)
It plays almost all files I got stored in my old (and rapidly being filled to the brim) hard disk. I think the firmare of this unit is August 2011... because it says on SETUP > MISC > VERSION INFO:
System: 358576
Bootcode: 0000.0303.0017
Audio: 360747
Video: 362812
Region code: 0
Sofware version: 2.2.0.1.
Compile time: Aug 8 2011
I was able to set up networking for the purpose of copying files from computer and into the NMT with external HDD + enclosure connected via USB. This is my configuration:
Data source: Asus netbook which gets its internet connection via home wi-fi
Hub/router: DLink DIR-600
NMT is connected to the router via ethernet cable (wired LAN)
On the NMT, I went to SET UP > NETWORK > WIRED LAN (it was immediately detected and turned ON).
I set everything on auto (i.e., DHCP IP and DNS) and then took note of the IP address. I also set SAMBA = ON.
On the netbook, I typed the file://(the IP address)/c & had access to the external hard disk folders.
My problem is, when I am copying new files from the netbook to the NMT's external hard disk, it's VERY SLOW. The transfer/copy speed is just 1.8MiB/s (one 4GB file takes almost one hour to copy)
Is there a way for me to speed up the copying process? Are there some additional settings on the NMT I need to do? Would it help if connect the hard disk via bare SATA rather than USB? I'd rather NOT disconnect the external HDD + enclosure and carry it to the netbook in order to load new files (although this seems to be the fastest way).
Hope someone could help.
