AFAIK, HTPC with Windows software can decode them.

Mute point to support them anymore when the format isn't being developed or used anymore.

I have .EVO files but they're as large as BD's since they're essentially direct rips from the source.

Finally got a chance to try this unit too and out ofthe box very happy. Question lang is even if I choose None sa Subtitle kapag play na movie the subtitle still appears. Is there a button ng Subtitle sa remote so I can turn it off? Thanks!

nakaka-inggit naman yun menu compared to the R200. Ang ganda bro!

Parang kelangan mo na yata ng dedicated electric fan dun sa area na puro hard disk ah. hahaha!

brader Furry, wait ka lang. kinulit ko yang si egreat and they are coming out with the fw. 2 weeks brother upon receipt, i'll post the announcement ng site where to download once local testers give the ok to release. Malay mo, maging pula ang interface mo ? naks!

me feature siya na autodownload subtitle, try mo i-off.
try mo cycle mo yung subtitle off on the fly. may popup yan sa baba, so may icon for subtitles settings without pausing your playback, ang galing ng interface di ba? sobrang dami ng function hanggang ngayon na gugulat pa din ako sa features nyan.

Maganda talaga ang S800 bro.. Also pinakagusto ko dito eh yung pag play nang BD menu.. naaaccess ko lahat nang laman nang Blue ray rips.. though it will eat a lot from your HDD space.. 40-50 gigs yaiks...

You need to hit ok sa button for that to take effect...

Parang gusto ko na i-offer sa yo yong Onkyo 876 para lalong gumanda yong S800. Dito lang kasi yong avr at naaalikabukan. Too busy nowadays at walang time na magpalit ng set-up.

Aba eh kung bebenta mo sa akin yan eh lalagay ko na si Yammy sa Market place... Kung may extra budget sana i will still keep it kasi ang ganda nya pero pag kukunin ko yan eh mapapabenta yun kasi wala extra..

ISF certified na pwede mo i-adjust yong HUE, Contrast, etc sa AVR, Dynamic EQ, THX Loudness at dual hdmi out kaya pwede kang merong monitor.

Habang binabasa ko to asa Onkyo website ako at naglalaway sa Specs nang 876... Andyan na lahat nang kelangan ko...

Yong 875 nasa Bacolod na ke emman2008. So far, happing hapi sya kasi malayo daw ang tunog nya sa 806 nya at sa nahiram nya na 805.

Bulungan kita next week. Need to condition my mind kasi parang mas ok pa yong SQ ng 876 vs. 3008. Parang ang inapgrade ko lang sa 3008 ay yong Audyssey XT32.

Oo nga pala may monster NR3008 ka... Kahit alin sa dalawa brader kaso di ko kaya ang NR3008 masyadong mahal na he he he...though pangarap ko someday magkaroon ako nyan..

Basta brader 876 reserve... wag ka na magdalawang isip... he he he... Sabihan mo lang ako bro..

Maganda ang S800, can go side by side with PCH C-200 with regards to PQ and SQ.. Ang dami din configuration options.. I also like the function wherein all the settings can be change in one menu while playing a movie(subtitle, Audio settings etc. etc.). mag hover ka lang left or right to go to specific settings. sa PCH kasi isang setting isang button sa remote eh.. Minsan hahanapin mo pa kung asan sa remote..

If you love the S800, you may need to get engaged with S900, now with built in BDROM, that can switch region before playback.

in C200, you need to flash firmware and make up your mind which region you really like to stick to.
I dont know Egreat did it but they did so. a BluRay region free --- cool feature.

Questions:

Attaching another internal hard drive via the external slot bare sata connection at the back, is it better NOT to use any casing for the hard drive? Prolly for temp reasons?

Do I need to power the drive still or the bare sata connection is enough?

Playing movies from the drives connected from the outside portion of the S800, are they still upscaled and the audio decoded accordingly, whether it is 5.1 or 7.1 as the case may be?

A: that + the fact no fuzz ang changing ng disk. that's why popular din are dual docking station such as this: keeping the disks upright, with 80% of its surface exposed for cooling.

A:bare sata has both data + power so no need to worry about external power.

Q: video/audio decoding is same for external and internal SATA. the advantage of SATA data transfer rates are more obvious when you encounter *.mkv playback whic was encoded with a higher than 23Mb/sec. (USB disks show obvious video stutter(?), while playing that same file plugged to SATA directly still shows flawless video playback.
