What's the difference between a tube buffer and a tube preamp? sino sa kanila ang mas malapit sa pinto, o medyo nakapasok na?

voltage gain......otherwise attributes of a buffer applies....horses for courses.....in most cases with tube power amps, you may not need a preamp, but a buffer you can use....

jojo you are correct about the x10d, lots of open loop gain tamed by global negative feedack....
i had in mind those yaqin buffers that the TS asked....."yaqin cd3 tube buffer"

yup yup, cd1-3 = cf

yes! there's that grid to cathode resistor that lowers the current of the tube, removing the tube and you still end up with an attenuated signal.  ;D ;D ;D

after hearing your inputs, jojod and tonyt, i'm now more sure that if i buy a tube amp it'll be from the local tube amp makers. i've also read your posts about the cayin a50t was it? very very fun read with that american who complained about design issues.

for one thing, the entry of chinese amps in our country pushed the prices down, i am not sure if that is a good thing, but here end users win.....

I beg to disagree. Here suffers quality. A runaway tube, a smoking e-cap, a burnt output or power transformer are just some of the things I see in new tube amps. Rate of repairs had gone up, customers often come in for repairs instead of new business.

The same amps that used to cost twice or thrice as much still stands today, a mark of a true quality build.

I've assumed that brand "y" was trying to get their share of the tube amp market by emulating brand "c". so in essence brand "c" would be a better quality amp. pare-parehas lang pala. if they're priced like sakura then i have no complaints. it's like buying a konzert amp with beautiful glowing bulbs for aesthetics. but if you price it above 10k, then they should at least follow through with proper amp design and quality.

dahil sa nakatapak sila sa tubelandia....kahit pa questionable ang quality....take the sakura av200 for example.....winner na yun sa akin... ;D

yung mga alanganing mag tubes, napabile tuloy.... :D

in the commercial world, price is king the average user do not understand anything about their purchases.....

economics of scale is very much at play here.....ang mga chinese, kahit kumita lang ng mamera, basta million units ang benta, go sila.....

ang malaking factor, tinangkilik sila dito, nice to look at kasi.....

Anchor Butter (227g) - Php100

Magnolia Butter (227g) - Php95

Queensland Premium Butter (225g) - Php78

Golden Crown Butter Compound (227g) - Php35

Once you've tasted all, you'll still crave for Anchor Butter, or the Queensland at the very least.

But Golden Crown outsells them all! ;D

It is more of a butter compound actually, pretty generic for baking stuff. Ok din siya for my pancakes and waffles pero iba pa din ang taste ng Anchor brader...  ;D

anchor butter din like ko...... :D :D :D

masarap kasi...  :D

one of the best I've tried is LURPAK (I think it's Danish?)... ang sarap nito sa sauteed garlic mushroom, use whole buttons and make sure not to burn the garlic or it will taste "mapakla"... best served with ice cold sanmig and other beverages...
