Films that came out on DVD before they're shown in local theaters

An example is 28 Days Later. It hasn't been shown yet locally but the DVD will be released on the 27th of this month.



Anyone know of others?

What's the news with this DVD?  What are its special features?  How much is the selling price?  :)

DVD Talk review.

Scratch my earlier comment. I got confused when the movie review got posted on a DVD site & assume it was the DVD they're reviewing.

Only movie I know that came a wee late is the Obelix & Astrix movies.

Jackass: The Movie...  The DVD is already out, and the posters for this movie are still in the 'Coming Soon' area of the movie theaters...

I don't think those ever got a theatrical release locally.  :-\



Both Rent and The Producers were out on R1 DVD many months before their local theatrical releases.

The Break Up ummmm... I think not sure though.
A Steven Seagal flick that just came out 6 months after the DVD release.
