ser pabili ako sayo bayaran ko 1.5k  ;D

sir, i hope i have enough time to accommodate such request, kasi medyo busy ako, day- off lang ako nakakapasyal sa mga warehouses dito, kailangan pa hindi bagong paligo, naka-tsinelas lang, at walang dalang kotse. in other words, sakripisyo, otherwise they'll mark me as an enemy.

but maybe i can find someone here na hindi masyadong mataas magpatong, we can work out a system na siya na lang ang magpapadala diyan. kaya lang, think of after-sales service kung dito pa galing ang unit mo. baka mas practical na diyan na lang bumili kung P500 to P1K lang diprensya.

meron akong Sony 227ESD dati, sira na, ang tanda ko mukhang mas okey compared with Onkyo XDs. pero hindi ako sigurado, dahil walang nangyaring A/B comparison. actually, kaya ko nabili itong dalawang Onkyo, nanghihinayang ako dahil poging-pogi ang appearance compared with others i saw. talagang puwedeng sabihing brand new yung 501XD. yung 901XD pala 3 sets of analog outputs (not 2 as i previously mentioned), kaya kahit ikabit mo siya sa 3 amps ng sabay sabay puwede. ang ginagamit ko kasi talagang primary CDPs two units of Revox 226. yung isa may problema na pero yung isa perfect pa.

Thanks..

Mga sirs, check this list. http://www.geocities.jp/freak_audio/CD-P.htm
Nilista na yung mga oks na cd player, nandyan din yung panasonic pagkatanda ko, i-babelfish nyo, then read the reviews. :) Mukhang pinaka oks na cdp ng sony besides 701es is that 337 or 557 model, medyo mas modelo. Ok yung source nyo na taga pier, nakakapag recommend ng cdp, maganda daw Panasonic 1-bit mash? Ano description nya for the player? Musical, neutral and warm? Audyopayls din pala yung mga taga pier :P
Oh, last resory na yung adjustment ng lens, try cleaning lens and the support ng transport, yung pinagpapasadahan ng lens assembly, adjusting laser power should be the last option, kasi pag pinalakas pa, baka maagahan ang pag pundi ng laser, my dos sentimos lang po. :)

is art flores the guy from PAL who lives in Las Pinas? if he's the same guy, nice to know he's still around. when i was fresh graduate and starting this hobby in early '80s, i remember buying a Thorens 124 turntable and a Revox A80 amp from him. he's a very nice guy and you can surely entrust your CDPs to him.

if he's reading this, hi art. i'm that frail kid with eyeglasses from diliman with a vw beetle who used to visit you in early '80s to hear your Dalquist DQ 10 (i thought it was a Quad electrostatic) speakers and Linda Ronstadt records.

Sabi ng taga-pier magaganda daw lahat.
Eto pa iyong sinabing taga-pier na magaganda. (Recommended niya)

1. Denon CDP (I forgot the model) pero nang ma-check ko nagloloko yong display
2. The Panasoninc 1-Bit MASH
3. The Technics Multi-DAC
4. The Sony 337 ESD
5. The Onkyo DX Series.

sorry about the last post on art flores, just got excited, parang sa TV. anyway, just to comment on Panasonic's MASH, or 1-bit technology, i thought those were all part of usual Japanese technology hypes. but you'll never know until you hear one and Matsucrapa is not your run-of-the-mill sogo-sosha. Technics, Panasonic, National, Ramsa, etc. are all dependable Matsucrapa brands, thus, those Panasonic CDPs at the pier deserve listening sessions. btw, there's this vintagetechnics.com/menu.htm website where you can check original pricing and list of high-end Technics/Panasonic audio models released in the US.

among the CDP's in nelson's list, i was lucky enough to be able to use the panasonic & technics... the panasonic 1-bit MASH cdp was my first ever cdp which i used in the 90's, and the technics 18-bit 4DAC was borrowed from a friend.

these 2 CDP are opposites -- the panasonic excels in midrange body & musicality while the technics excels in detail & dynamics... being extremes might make them sensitive to speaker & amp matching, i think the panasonic will match with a lively/detailed setup while the technics might go well with a lush tube amp setup.

i'm currently using the technics with a EL34 tube amp and i can confirm narayan's observation that it does have a strong output signal, so much so that i prefer the sound without a preamp... even though i'm using only the passive attenuator in my amp, the sound is very detailed & dynamic... with a preamp in the signal chain the dynamic contrast can get a little tiresome, but without the preamp its just right so you kinda save money coz you don't need a preamp... the impression when listening to guitars and drums is that the musician was giving his all into the strumming and the hitting... very good CDP if you want to hear all the details.
