It's really cheaper here: P800 per unit "as-is" (plus P12 per kilo Pantranco freight if sent there). I've bought five "as-is" CDP units already since December, the last two without the help of a technician, and they all worked fine. Reason why I didn't offer sending units there is, firstly, because I'm relatively busy with my job. Second, the receiver of the units there should understand electronics otherwise, sa sobrang kalog sa bus baka kailangan ng adjustment dahil ayaw ng umandar. But if Superman relocates here and he's not busy, maybe he could do it like a true businessman.Btw, one Jap surplus importer here has diversified into TV assembly. The brand is PJC (Phil. Japan Corp.) and price of "new units" - I guess chopsuey parts inside - range from P6K to P8K flat screen 25 to 28 inches (incl. widescreen). Parts and labor guaranteed 1 year. I was told the parts were NOS but I think only the tube, transformer and caps are new - the rest from dismantled boards of old Jap TV sets.

That's good news on the TV assembly. Baka ma-afford ko na flatr screen ah, nagloloko na yun TV ko eh.

Sorry sir pero takot ako dyan. TV sts, PC monitors, or anything with a crt. I had this bad experience in college involving a girl este a CRT pala.

thanks for this tip, sir, i'll also focus on just CDP DIY in the meantime. OT na to pero galing ng sagot mo sa biro, may lessons-learned pa rin. your reply also reminded me when i was a 10-yr old kid and a screw driver i was holding touched the tip of the CRT. high-voltage kicked me by almost 5 meters. sabi ng tatay ko: "mabuti hindi ka hinigop ng kuryente, kung nagkataon para kang piniritong butiki!"

Sir, hayaan mo pag napunta ako ng Maynila before end of the year, meron kang mga DIY na CDs, yung kinopya sa 4-year old Asus CD-writer. Tutal kahit anong CD isaksak mo diyan sa Onkyo mo kanta agad. Ganda pa boses!
Naku napasubo ako nito. Di bale, padalhan na lang natin ng frsh durian si JojoD. Teka, hindi ka ba darating dito ngayong Kadayawan? Sept 2 to 5 nasa Zamboanga ako, anyway, puwede nating ayusin ang sked para magkita tayo.

tingnan natin ha, andy...kasi each CDP weighs around 10 to 12kgs., allowable lang is 20-kilos...ang bag ko pa (normally 15kgs), mga padalang fruits, fish ni supergirl sa family namin, patay excess pala! ...nasa Php39/kilo ang excess baggage ngayon sa PAL, although i'm given extra 10kgs. because of the frequent flyer program, madalas kulang pa rin...pero who knows, baka may good samaritan sa airport...
