Just think of it as being married (cd), then you see temptation (analog), you'll know what to do.  ;)

you should have both, you'll miss a lot if you only choose one. mas masarap ang dalawa lalo na kung sawa ka na sa isa, i.e., mabilis nang tumili, samantalang papahirapan ka ng konti ng pangalawa bago mapa-tili.

btw, i have yet to buy my ticket, but i would be in Manila Jan. 6 to 9. kung kailangan mo pa ng mabu-butingting, i'll bring my two Sony 502ES kahit mabigat. do you still need them?

Audioslave. OT na tayo, however, I like the arcam, the sound is very clear and refined for me. I have used it for about 50 hrs pa lang. Some have compared it to rotel 1072 and other jolida models with positive reviews. Iceman may be right because I used the two outputs of the WS tono, regardless, both the sony and arcam are very good to my ears.

Sir Titanium,

I sent you a PM.

I just need to consult something with you.

Thanks.

just to share this info, palagi kong nakakalimutan kasi. last month, i found a universal remote that could control practically all my surplus CDPs - volume and track selection. it's China-made, URC-900, costing P120 and available in many shops here in Davao. it could store memories for 10 remote codes, including TVs and VCRs. anyway, just one unit controls four surplus CDPs in my room - Sony X333ES, Sony 502ES, Onkyo Integra C 901XD and Kenwood DP-3300. it won't work on my Revox, however.

if you want to control CDP volume, all you have to do is use the variable output RCA jack at the back of the CDP (to amp) instead of the fixed output. for those without variable output jacks, only the track selection would work. i've been using it for about a month now and it's been reliable so far. bought two other units of this remote: one for another set of surplus CDPs in my living room, and another as reserve, sakaling magka-ubusan.

since my two Sony 502ES are going to JojoD next week, i decided to visit a friendly junk shop here in Davao yesterday and eventually picked up a Yamaha CDX-800, a mid-scale early '90s looker, http://bidders.auction.biglobe.ne.jp/item/35013708 at less than half its Japan auction price (or equivalent to a dinner at the Marco Polo Hotel.)

since it has no disc pressure adjustment screw, i decided to tinker with its variable resistors to smoothen optical lens focus and intensity (tip para sa mga hindi takot mag buting-ting without using a soldering iron). it took just 30 minutes to make it a good CD-R reader. it also accepts commands from my cheap URC-900 and has a downloadable manual from the yamaha website. only drawback is it only has one set of fixed RCA outputs, no variable outputs to control volume separately. still, it got me excited again. until when, i don't know.

its manual has a code for a Denon CDP. URC-900 should be available in Chinese electronics shops there at about P120.

KoyA, wag mo sya lolokohin ha.  ;D

Happy new year too! i have replied to your PM. You can check the specs (use babelfish translator) at this site - http://cdp101.hp.infoseek.co.jp/cdp502es/cdp502es.html. i'll also include a URC-900 so it would be easy for you to control the two units.
