Topic: Branded dvd player to my Devant LCD...

Good Day Bro's... I have concern regarding for compatibility between LCD TV and branded DVD player. I plan to buy branded DVD player (Sony, Philips, Pioneer & Etc.) with HDMI to my Devant lcd with hdmi input ready, Paano ko po malalaman kung compatible yung bibilhin ko dvd player sa lcd tv ko pag HDMI connection...

Mga bro, Help po ulit to my inosence... I already have Pioneer DV400 player with HDMI 1081p upscale and I think it is Multi region. Can I play original HD DVD disc to my player???   Thanks po...

It can only play ordinary dvds. Hd-dvds are a different medium promoted by Toshiba against bluray but lost in the end for lack of support from movie companies which sided with Sony. This is what you need for hd-dvds http://www.pinoydvd.com/index.php/topic,139983.0.html

Yep. Got mine pre-owned na rin. You may not find any brand new hd-dvd players because Toshiba stopped manufacturing them in 2007 or 2008 although you can check with Amazon. Besides the titles are limited but comparing hd-dvds with bluray discs, sometimes the former is sharper depending on the movie. Most people have parted with their units but I like to maintain mine for posterity.
