Laptop HTPC building
« on: Jun 25, 2011 at 01:39 PM »
Hi pdvd,
need avdice/help sa pagawa ng HTPC setup. I currently have an Acer Aspire 6935G which has a full HD 1080 playback with HDMI out and a 5.1 output. I connect this to my 42"LG LE5500 thru the HDMI. My problem is with the speaker system. I connected my Logitech z640 5.1 speaker but i don't get all the speakers working. I already have tried different settings sa audio control panel pero usually yung right front satellite speaker ang wala. Is it better for me to get an Home Theatre system for my TV tapos connect na lang yung laptop to HDMI connection (video and audio output)? will I get a 5.1 surround sound from it? may S/PDIF din nga pala yun laptop ko. what's the best setup na mamaximize ko yung laptop? Thanks...:)

Try to make a sweep through your audio control panel if all the speakers are working.  It must be your wiring that's loose.  Check your connections.  On default, both front speakers should be working even on an analog set-up.

Checked it sir, ayaw pa rin. Now im thinking baka yung 5.1 output is for the spdif lang. If i connect my tv to a 5.1 home theatre system will i get a surround sound if from the laptop hdmi to tv lang?

check your notebook hdsound setting, should be set at 5.1 output or 6 speaker system,
pag naka 2 speaker(2 channel) lang ang setting, fronts lang ang merong sound.
