.

I would like to use my plasma sana for gaming.. but ok din if Monitor... what monitor would you recommend? Probably around 18 to 22 inch would do..

I was asking because you mentioned the price saying "including monitor" which is what threw me off. If you're okay with using your TV, dedicate your budget for the rest of the hardware (and software).

Yes sir.. what would you recommend? I'm not looking for something na compact yung size..kahit yung traditional na casing ok lang ..but if I can achieve similar specs using compact casing vs traditional atx casing mas better... :) Last time I bought a pc kasi was way back 2006 kaya I know nothing about what's ok and what to avoid.. Thank you mga sir..

since you're gonna use it as both an HTPC and Gaming PC, I suggest excluding a monitor from your 30k budget. you're gonna plug it to your display, which I assume is an LED or plasma tv.  ;)

Kasya naman if you spend it wisely (decent non-fancy parts). Mura na lang ang gamit ngayon.

Going down to an i3 is also doable, but it's only gonna save you like 2k. :P

Example:
Powercolor HD 7870 2GB Video ~ 8195
Intel i5-3450 Processor ~ 7695
Asus P8Z75-M LE Motherboard ~ 3395
Kingston ValueRAM 8GB DDR3 ~ 1590
Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD ~ 4495
HEC Cougar ST 600W PSU ~ 2190
Cooler Master Elite 343 Chassis ~ 1300
Logitech MK220 Keyboard/Mouse ~ 950

Total Cost ~ 29810

You can upgrade the keyboard/mouse and add a UPS and an SSD if budget permits. :)

@Stagea - Cge sir will check my budget and consider this set - up. Is this way better than the AMD A10 set-up? Currently not a hardcore gamer but might turn into one eventually pag naimpress sa graphics >:D Xbox 360 lang kasi pang games ko ngayon e..not sure kung gano kalaki diff nila in terms of graphics..

It is more capable, yes. It does cost more, however. Sa A10 build, you can spend the extra money on an SSD, a nice controller, an optical drive, etc.

Graphics capability, malayo sa console. Consoles are generally way behind PCs when it comes to hardware. Nadadaya lang sa software optimization, since identical ang hardware nung consoles natitweak nung game developers yung software for the hardware at hand.

Oo nga sir e..Pati pala SSD, OD, Controllers need ko din ibudget..pero siguro pag nagkaextra money nalang din...hehe.. Bale let's say I go for the A10, would it be way better than Xbox Graphics? Bigla ko naisip pwede nako mag G27 sa PC...  >:D

Yung TDP ng i5 is 77W against sa 65W ng A10 tapos add mo pa yung video card power consumption ng i5 setup. If you will also use with HTPC better get a AMD Video card for PQ than Nvidia.  >:D >:D

AMD over Nvidia when it comes to HT use for now (maybe Nvidia can catch up in the future). The video image quality difference is quite noticeable when running hardware-based decoding. The current Geforce 600 series delivers PQ that's better than the Radeon 4000 series, but behind the Radeon 5000 series. AMD's current generation (Radeon 7000 series) can deliver PQ that's comparable to extensive software decoding, minus the high CPU load.

XBOX 360 / PS3 use antiquated engines, from a computing standpoint. The Xenos (360 graphics processor) is based on the R500 series (Radeon x1000 series) design, which was popular in PCs 7 years ago. The gap versus current high end PC graphics is just staggering because of the programmability and sheer processing muscle of today's hardware (packing 68x as many transistors per chip, having the ability to run multiple chips in parallel, and running at upto 3x the clock rate).

The only thing keeping current consoles alive is the amount of optimizations done on the software to look decent while running on low spec hardware (kudos to the game developers for the effort). PC gamers hate this a lot, as a lot of games do not take advantage of the capability of PC hardware because they are optimized for consoles then ported over to the PC with fairly minor tweaks and improvements.

That being said, yes. Despite being a fraction of the power of today's top end GPUs, the A10's built-in graphics (HD 7660D) still bring in capability and performance that's well ahead of current gaming consoles. You need to pair it with fast memory to deliver the goods. You can also opt to Hybrid CrossfireX it with a dedicated HD 6670 GDDR5 model for a sizeable performance improvement with some applications (AMD Dual Graphics) for 3k PhP.
