 guys any inputs on these two tube cd players . in your ears what are the strenghts and weaknesses of both player. which one do you prefer? why?
vpi/cj/plinius/musicalfidelity/rega/sonus faber/dynaudio/rotel/revel/denon/integra/dali

I've heard both - the Consonance gives a more refined and detailed (for a tubed cdp) sound with better highs, controlled sibilance.

It would be better if you audition both player and decide for yourself. Audio is subjective, I may call it details but for you it maybe bright, to many things to consider like matching and synergy etc. If you can borrow both cdp try it on your system.
