Romy Martinez KT88 SE
« on: Aug 09, 2011 at 09:20 PM »
After a couple of years, finally I finished Romy's KT88 SE based on Michael Abdella's circuit:

The amp can take KT88, 6550, EL34, 6L6 for the power tube, 6n1p, 6dj8, 6922 and 6bz7 as the input/driver tube.

Yes Tony, Edrel's irons, except for the PSU choke, I used a Hammond 193J.

I have not heard the 6H23, I should try it soon. :)

Maraming kapatid yan worldwide, it is based on Mikael Abdellah's circuit.

The cost, depends on your pocket. You can get exotic irons, boutique parts, NOS GEC KT88, and it will cost around 40K, it can go as low as 25K, but I will not built this amp using Raon wound transformers!

Finally had the chance to pick up this baby. Nueva Ecija to Laguna is not that near, heh heh.

The amp looks more gorgeous in person!

The matching Foreplay 3 inspired pre-amp sound very sweet!

Again thanks Sir alexg!

Its very seldom that I go north beyond Cabanatuan City.  Maybe in some other place we'll be able to meet.

Looking at the picture, it looks like an EL34 was used instead of KT88.

I had a pair of 6L6 tubes that I will use with this circuit once I secured all the parts.  Can't wait to start with this project.  ;D  Irons na lang kulang ko but that's the highest contributor on the overall cost of this project.

6L6 should also work on the same circuit.

How about 10K for the set of the irons?
