Are you sure na 6 sq meters? That's only about 2 x 3 meters sir..

With an area that small I think you're already good with the HTIB (Home Theater In Box) package. I suggest you try it out first. :) Kung nabitin at saka na mag-upgrade..

But in any case, I agree with Jhelenz na maganda kung 5.1 set-up. 8)

+1  ;)   Sir Billabong suggestion is good to take, if you're not satisfied then thats the time to sell your HTIB, coz w/ the floor area you mentioned the HTIB will bring justice. wala pang add on gastos ;D

go for the ones na may Optical input as you will need this for your "future NMT". usually si Samsung ang meron, but I heard even LG meron na din. it will cost you around 8k to 15k depende kung tall boy o yung small satelites lang.

Try mo  muna yun, baka naman OK na. ayus lang mag upgrade to a "separates" system ( recevier+ speakers) at least maririnig mo talga yung night and day difference nilang dalawa kesa talon ka agad sa mas mahal na option. ;)

if you start an HTIB, You "MAY" eventually upgrade, some do, some dont upgrade, depends on how content you are  ;D.  You can not upgrade an HTIB, so its pretty much sell the whole package and get a new system.

With 30K, I would start with a 2.0 system, get a second hand 5.1 AVR, DVD player and Front speakers. When funds allow add the following in this order
1. Subwoofers,
2. Center Channel
3. Rear Speakers

25K to 30K po sir...

I think Sony or LG has wireless htib systems. But these could be quite expensive given the technology. Besides the sound quality may be subject to signal transmission interference from external sources (running motors, radio, etc.) and may only disappoint you vis-a-vis the cost. Better go with the wired system approach.

your inputs on this plan set up of mine...
TV: Samsung UA40D5000 (plan to buy)
   HTib: still undecided

given the space i'd mentioned, am i on the right track?
w/ the intended usage of 90% watching movies / concerts ?

I still think your best bet is an onkyo htib. At least the bundled receiver allows you to expand and you can replace your speakers if you find necessary. But given the room area, the htib speakers would be sufficient. I'm not an onkyo htib user, but comparing with the available ones, i.e., lg, sony, samsung, etc. this would be a standout.
