Hi,
Just want to get your thoughts on the best movies to show when doing demo to friends and relatives, so far am using the ff:
1. The last samurai - cherry blossom scene right after night attack and final battle
2. Avatar - final battle
3. day after tom -hurricane scene

I like using

-Star Trek 2009 movie opening scene where the federation ship gets attacked

-Gladiator first battle scene

-War of the Worlds where the aliens first break out from under the earth

Aside from others have already mentioned....

- Saving Private Ryan = Omaha Beach battle - very good to showcase surround speakers.
- GI Joe Rise of the Cobra = Opening Scene - Lots of LF to shake the whole room.

My personal favorites for demoing

1.) Transformers Revenge of the Fallen (Big Screen Edition) - Forest Battle scene, Imax BIG picture!! the sound of clashing robots and the sound of the forest being torn to bits is always a delight for viewers.
The only good scene in Transformers 2 IMO

2.) The Dark Knight - pretty much every big action scene, the opening sequence, batman kidnaps Lao and the bat-bike scene.

3.) Master & Commander - The final battle, cannons non-stop blasting each other.

Had some relatives who used to sell HT equipment, and this was one of the Laser Discs they would use to encourage customers to get into the hobby. Priceless
