don't worry. looking at the specs, it's not much of a leap in terms of your normal *ehem* playback (too early to tell in my pov). one way or another, you've got to give them credit for trying to push their hw to the limit since the a200's release (think 3d playback from a 2yr old hw). and most importantly, i don't need to rely only on pdvd's nmt thread if i have issues or questions with the popcornhour (catch my drift?). though i envy ert for being clever enough to solely distribute (<- verification needed) this model w/in our shores. this brand practically sells itself.

Syabas is really a software company and a very good one at that, that drives the A210 hardware and now with this newer hardware providing 20% processing power combined with an 800 Mhz memory bus, that gives them a LOT of room to play with--- you can just expect more good things to come (apps and improved interface)

faster would need more cooling so thats likely the reason for the enclosure change
Syabas also has POPBOX and POPBOX 3D ($USD129), it would be interesting to the consumer to get side-by-side comparison between POPBOX V8, POPBOX 3D, PCH A210, PCH C200 , PCH 300 which spells out new stuff the PCH can do that the lower models cant. From there they can decide if they really need it or they just want to play MKV and do away with the apps entrirely.

Nice ...... looks like a souped–up A210.

Are those "exhaust" holes on top of the casing ..... personally, dont like those to be on top, since dust will likely creep in.

The 8657 is 20% faster + it has a L2 cache so there will be some increase in performance.

Internal testing reveals the Gigabit USB port can transfer data at around 24~30MB(ytes) sec which is like a PC's transfer rates when copying from internal SATA to a external USB drive.

NMJ version 2 is already installed and boasts of better performance in terms of scraping capability as well as allowing flash based list views using coverart (like Realtek players).

The biggest change is the totally new firmware front end (UI) that has dropped HTML and uses Adobe Flashlite.

It's actually a big deal because dropping HTML (called Gaya browser) that was in use since the A-100, YAMJ HTML and pretty much a lot of the existing CSI user developed apps will not work anymore.

There's actually a poll going on in the main forum for the PCH asking owners if they want to move to the same UI as the A-300. If Syabas pushes forward with this, expect the 200 series to be a bit faster but not as fast as the A300.
