something intresting...... but after collecting 2 amps, and forever waiting for that ever so hard to find models i have grown weary and shifted to surplus speakers and cdps....
now with this latest development, maybe its now time to rekindle that love affair....
The Yamaha B3 was a replacement from a unit that I decided to return to the store where i got it three months ago. I did not ask for a refund, instead I told the owner I'll just get a replacement when I see something equivalent to P5K, the amount I paid for the Yamaha B70. Mali ako sa specs ng B3: 8X8X16, about 15kgs and fuse is 6 amperes at 240volts (walang nakalagay na power consumption, wala rin akong makitang specs sa net) tingin ko, mga 100 to 150wpc rms lang ito, mas may muscle yung Alpha 907 sa tunog, 160wpc yun.
The Onkyo preamp was bought at only P300, kasi walang pilot lamp (power indicator). Bumili lang ako ng 12-volt lamp sa tindahan @ P11, kabit na. Binuksan lahat, conclusion: sira ang ulo ng mga Hapon, may mga sections pa na sealed - parang top secret circuit design considering this model was about 30 years old now. Ang napansin ko, kadaming filter. I was attracted to it because the silver faceplate says "The Ultimate Stereophonic Preamp", tapos walang tone controls, only volume, three buttons, at balance.
Pag may napunta sa inyo dito, sasamahan ko sa mga junk shops ng Davao. Kailangan cowboy, marumi ang damit para puwedeng maghukay!
