Hi Sir Vic, Just bought last night my 42UT30 in SNS. My problem is about channel set up. When i search using analogue (auto tuning), not all cable (destiny) channels like HBO PBO & others was saved. any ideas what do i need to do? TIA!

Try to use Manual Tuning in channels that weren't stored during the initial Auto Tuning. Check page 44 in your manual.

Hi Sir Nerveblocker,

actually the manual is in chinese so i cant understand it.

moving forward, i tried using the manual tuning but it searched only channels the same in the auto tuning. I noticed the it searched only the channels in the latter part of the destiny cable channels.

and the channel search is only up to 69 channels. any ideas will be greatly appreciated. TIA!

Bro go to Menu>Setup>Tuning Menu>Channel List Edit. You will see all of the channels. Just go to the channel that wasn't included in the Auto Tuning and check the box on the left of the channel so it will be included in the memory of the channel list. You can even edit the names of the channels if you want.

You can also go to Manual Tuning and search the channel by pressing channel up and down in you remote and when you find that channel, just press Store.

*This was just calibrated using an Avia Home theater setup disc. No advanced calibrating tools were used.
*If you do not like the result, adjust it according to your preference.

mga sir,
active 3d po ba ito,shutter glasses ang gamit?
passive 3d pa lang kasi na try ko, tv ng barkada ko, kaso ang mahal pa nasa 50k ang pinaka mura,
ano ba pinag kaiba nito sa passive 3d???
yung sa barkada ko kasi walang battery yung glasses parang ordinary sunglasses lang siya. at comfortable sa mata. ang alam ko kasi masakit sa ulo ang shutter glasses.

Both units are excellent choices...

But if you really need 3D get the UT30... But if you are ok with just plasma and use it for occasional HD movies and mostly for cable TV viewing... the 42X50 is a very solid plasma unit...

I'd get the 42UT30 .... best value plasma with 3D

Active 3D glasses ang kasama nito... It has batteries that need charging...

the UT30 series is a 2011 model... the newer ones are the UT50 series (2012)...

thanks you sir! di ko kasi alam kung ano ba talaga ang ok.parang no winners and losers between active and passive..sabi nila panget daw ang active kasi masakit sa mata.gawa ng may flicker.sabi din nila mas maganda ang picture quality ng active kesa passive..passive naman di masakit sa mata pro picture quality eh di kasing ganda ng active..sabi ng mga active users,kaya daw sinasabi ng mga passive users na pangit ang active kase yung iba cant afford.lol...mahal ang glasses ng active..for me it doesnt really matter kung mahal yun glasses..ang impt sakin is maganda yun picture quality and di masakit sa mata..i guess mga lumang model yun nag fiflicker? anyway iniisip ko kung ano ba ang mas ok 42ut30 or 42vt30. malaki ba ang difference nila? gusto ko na kse bumili ng full hd plasma 3d tv. i have lg 42" LED 1080p yun picture quality nya is ok lang.parang di sya wow.colors nya mejo di kasing ganda ng plasma n lcd.edge lit sya so pag may part na madilim nakikita ko yun ilaw sa gilid gilid.. hassle.. ;-(

onga eh.. halos pareparehas sila...baka mag 42st30 na lang ako.sabi nila wala naman silang nakitang difference sa vt30..same picture quality lang..ang ok lang sa vt30 is yun auto calibration.and thx..parehas naman silang neoplasma..mejo budgeted din ako so baka mag st30 na lang ako with no 3d glass ;-)

Would an NOS 42UT30s still be a better buy than a Sammy 43F4900? They're my choices at the moment. The 51F5000 (whose picture quality I really prefer to the HD-Ready F4900) is kinda big for me. I haven't seen this in action yet, though. All I know is this is a Full HD Plasma so I'm assuming the pixels are smaller than than an HD-Ready unit.

I don't know if it's better but my panasonic ut30 is very satisfactory. I use it in our living room with lots of light coming from the windows but it's fine. The problem of the reflective glass only comes up when watching very dark scenes.
But i admit i would've bought an st30 or vt30 if i had the cash. Less reflective daw.

just go buy a 51inch samsung for about 29K... they have similar PQ... You get bigger size...

look it up in the Flat Panel thread - Samsung 51F5000 plasma... Not 3d... Marami nagsasabi okay daw... Try visiting ABENSON / AVANT
