...bias lang, pero i find the KT-88 a little bit sweeter when it comes to vocals...but in terms of dynamics and over-all presentation, 6550 is it!

tama silang lahat... pero ikaw pa din ang masusunod kaya audition it personally para you can decide which you need.

sabi nga nila... versatile ang EL34...

ok sana yun 6550 o KT88 kaso hindi yata kasama sa budget amp lineup yun pero I'm sure you can afford it since very competitive ang prices ng AMX.

Oooops! did I say EL 34? sorry guys I thnk what I have pala are EL84s. Dyahe! on the other hand, I still stand to what I said and that is start simple and go big if wallet allows. By the way, Andrew, is the project for tube 5.1 on the way na ba? You mentioned that you will start with stereo amps and an upgradable scheme to make them into a full blown 5.1 theater system. Now wouldn't that be neat for all of us. Can you imagine also a tube powered sub-woofer? Yung bang tipong tunog ng doublebass ay naramdaman mo!

Thanks for the info. I've seen the budget EL34 PP and the build is excellent (actually, all the amps I saw there were built really good). I didn't audition kc baka nde na ako makatulog

I also saw an amp that looks like the budget EL34. Ito na ba yung pumped-up na EL34 w/ Sir VD's mods? I didn't quite inspect it, but the price is higher.

Also, pag ba nagpalit ng tubes ang AMX amps kailangan pang "i-bias" ulit?

Bro the budget amp is only 25 watts i believe SF needs more power to trully hear its beauty try KT88 AMX have 2 variant at the moment an Integrated 50 watter and a Mono block 60 watter price P28K and P30k respectively.

Thanks for the advise hans, I thought so too, since I currently have a 50wpc ss amp and, while it's good, more power will do wonders.

I was just wondering since I once auditioned an 8wpc TS Audio tube amp with the tinos and it sounded good enough although for the most part my setting was at 12 o clock, sometimes more.

RE the monoblocks, does amx also have a matching pre-amp and for how much?

yes they have available preamps (ss/tube, linestage only, linestage with mm phono, mm phono only. price ranging from 6k to 13k. you can also have it custom made fro the monoblocks.

AMX i believe pwede mo i side by side dun sa two brands you mention. tska iba tumunog ang mono block hiwalay sa hiwalay hehehehe..

could anyone post here pics of the inside of amx integrated tube amps? the stock ones. im sure a lot of members would like to see the internal wiring and parts of the amx.

you can always go to Phasetron and ask them to open one so you can see the layout. The owners modified version will not be a good gauge of our layout and workmanship, kasi rework na. Solder here and desolder there.

coming very soon. 6550 60w/ch budget amp. also kt90 pero baka hindi na budget with bias meter and all the works. doon sa mga bumili ng el34 many many thanks to you all. tuloy pa rin ang model na yan. also in the works a very budget entry level el84 pp amp 30 watts total. nice sweet and smooth for music lovers only. we a t amx are working well and hard to give you good music.
