Hi,

Anybody who can offer for an audition of their AMX Tube Amp? I am planning to buy one either KT88 or 300B Based Amp. My preference is a power Amp since I have already my Tube pre-amp.

I will be using it with my Klipsch RB-3 speakers. Anybody can help me with this? I need to decide from the above tube amps. If you have any scheduled listening sessions located near Makati area kindly include me if can possibly join and also to meet my fellow PinoyDVD members.

You may ask Jetok nag-inquire sya we were there last monday with John, Kimpao, & jetok discussing with Mr Andrew.. tapos he mention that i can interchange the tube nga hehehe.. plan tweak my amp na pwede ultralinear to triode mo din.. pero have to use kt88 or 6550 coz of the voltage ata pero even at its current ultralinear setting pwede ko na lagay yun tube..

Preng ikaw ang nawawala sa circulastion.. si toot man busy ata sa work... si peanut butter and skyflakes ayus mukhang fita na lang kasi bago RELative nya!! si ST president ST boy paldo pre nagpa-tweak ng ST70 nya.. hehehe si Akyat naman busy ata sa bago nya GainClone.. si Sebman wala lang daw nag Yahoo lang kami..si Nels pre busy pa rin sa GF nya ata.. si James nightshift... hehehe

Uy sure sir no problem will advise.. RB-3 hmmm si geko yan ang speaker ata he match it with his 3 AMX tube amp..

di naman ako nawala d2 pa rin kaso sa iba lang nabaling atensyon ko but hinahanap hanap ko pa rin tunog nang tube kaya wal bang session sa sabado hehehehe......iba talaga maraming grasya hehehe di mapigilan

Same thing I did when I borrowed geko's tono, I set the volume of the preamp at 12'o clock and then just adjust the gain controls on the monoblocks, less distortion, YMMV though.

pareho tayo ng speakers, sir. i match my RB-3 with my low powered 6v6-based AMX Blanca SE amp (3wpc in triode/4wpc in ultralinear mode). the volume pot at 10-11nn, my setup could already fill my room with sweet knee-weakening music.

KT-88 & 300B... hmmm... magkaiba ang musical qualities nitong dalawa, sir. i suggest you audition them both & see which you would like. meron pa 'atang KT-88 at 300B sa Phasetron.

kung watts ang habol mo, you could definitely get more watts with a KT-88 amp than with a 300B amp for the same amount of money. halos doble 'ata ang presyo ng KT-88 sa 300B, eh...

self-biasing kasi 'yung amp mo... ganyan din 'yung david 1 until the last tweak. ngayon... pagnagpalit ako ng tube, kelangan din i-adjust 'yung bias.

as for KT-88 or 6550... hmmm... personally, sa Valve Art 6550. sweetness of el34 & ooomph of KT-88.

Sir if you have a smallish room i would go with the 300B, lalo na if you like instrumentals.

i would set amp to max and control volume with the pre-amp.

my logic:
- knob on amp is passive, hence it is a gain limiter
- knob on preamp adds gain to the signal
- piga mo yung bigay ng preamp ng hindi nalilimit ng amp

Is there any manufacturer or distributor of tube amps here in the Philippines?

We would like to test somewhere in June or July the new Klipsch Reference on it vs. Klipsch with a Solid State amps...para kung meron prefer ang tube can listen to it or those who would settle for Solid State can also have a say...

i agree as well...home audition would be the best option...or better yet, join us in the listening sessions and bring your products and "hear" for yourself...iceman90a, you're the man!!!

i can bring my 3wpc tube amp to Powerplant if they will not mistaken it for a "device of mass destruction"

i'd like to hear the new RB-25 and i'm in the market for high efficiency speakers. i have home auditioned the previous model.
