tama pre, natatandaan ko pa sa conversation namin ni hans with andrew, kahit isang tube lang na dual triode pwede na, so hindi ganun kamahal yung tweak.... sabi pa niya malaki din daw ang improvement kung papalitan yung power supply.... hindi ko lang natanong kung kaya niya i-upgrade yung clock.

Actually, ganun tlga yun either you use dual triodes (single tube) for each channel or use it for both channel. It is a matter of what gain and topology you will use. But for CDP tweaks single tube is enough....

Got news from Mr Andrew thru phone na he'll be releasing SET super triode amp next week... interchangeable yun tubes to 6550, EL34 & 807..

8 watts to 12watts daw

Regards to CD player tube output tweak mukhang mahirap yun according to Mr Andrew he experimented sa Pioneer cd player.. usually brands have diff circuitry so hindi ganun kadali..

andrew has a new 3wpc super triode amp using tubes similar to el-84. tamis ng tunog!

it matches well with AA Audios phase array speakers (yung black na floorstanders christened as "LYRA"). kayang-kaya i-drive! imaging & soundstage is great! bass? meron din!

ang ganda ng combi nitong dalawa. as per andrew, the amp will cost less than PhP 10k when it goes into production. 'yung speakers naman, is in the vicinity of PhP 25K 'ata.

punta na lang kayo d'on. just listen to them yourselves. you be the judge.

just setting the record straight - the tubes mentioned are all PENTODE and can never, will never be single-ended triodes (SET) like a 2A3, 300B, 45, 50, 10Y - all of which are legitimate TRIODES.

you must be talking about a technique used in PENTODES to wire the screen grid to the plate which is called triode-strapping, and various other methods such as those published by Plitron and which claims to be an "invention".

Yep lets be clear on this one..the single ended amps coming up are not using triodes but pentodes (6550, kt88, el34, el84) so calling them SET's is not correct. do they sound like SET's? thats another story

hindi. the japanese article uses a method of inserting a real triode into the circuit with the hopes that it will influence the sound.

as i said before, forget about the topology, it's the sound that matters. i was just pointing out that a Pentode however you wire it will not sound like, and is definitely not, a Triode.

dropped by at Phasetron yesterday but I wasn't able to see the EL34 push pull integrated amp with blue pilot light.... looks like it was already sold. sino kaya nakabili sa inyo? gaano ba katagal mag-order nun?

you can inquire with them since that model is the one they have set for export, custom jobs take 3 weeks to a month
