hans, im choosing between el34 stc, 807 stc and amx 300b. hindi ko na nga alam eh but i wouldnt wanna make a purchase unless i audition them in a home listening environment. ang hirap kse mag audiotn dun sa phasetron store parang ayaw mag open up yung sound.

the stc el34 and stc 807 were bought as of yesterday. AFAIK andrew allows home auditions, but usually on gears he built for sale and not
the ones custom built for someone

I agree. I have been wanting to buy a decent budget tube amp. But everytime I listen to it sa Phasetron, I get discouraged. Just the other day I auditioned the dual el34 STC costing above P20K and I tell you I wouldn't buy it even if they brought down the price to P14K. There just wasn't any body to the music, no soundstage, lots of lost detail, no sparkle, and Norah sounded squeaky. I'm betting its just an amp-speaker mismatch.

Sir my only reference is between my SS and Tube, there is really BIG difference. The time na nakalipat ako ng bahay na mas-malaki (ang listening place) I'll invite you guys para kayo judge.
