the 807 just like other tubes can last long. it is electrically equivalent to 1625, 6L6, 6BG6G but they have different filament and socket orientation. the 807 is UX-5 with top cap as protection (its "sungay" is the Anode, touch it you're dead). avoid Westinghouse brand 807, it sounds crap. i use RCA in my 807 amp.

i was at phasetron yesterday merun nga dun 807 na naka parallel, i was tempted to get it, pero yung isa na lang...

anu maganda pang tube roll for matsu 5ar4 and 6sn7? merun ba kayo jan mga sars boys?

Check out vintage tubes buy and sell at wiredstate. mullard 5ar4 goes for 4.5k to 5k per piece. 6sn7 rca around 1.5k to 2.5 per piece.

andy boy...the RCA red base 6SL7 (the best 6SL7 driver tubes by far) is around Php 2.5k each...the NOS Philips is around Php 1.4k each...thanks!

not really sure about that...i've tried both the rca redbase and the phiilps (which i am using now)...the rca red base pairs well with the sylvania 5U4G...but the philps pairs well with the mullard 5u4g (but that's me)...will ask around...thanks!

if you guys want a good sounding 6SN7, try the Sylvania VT-231's. they are one of the more musical ones and i prefer them over the RCA redbase. i have about a dozen types of 6SN7s, and they are in the top 3. the others i like are the tung-sol and the black-glass ken-rads. but that's me, my ears and my gear...

Sir what is vintage sound? IMHO vintage sound are lack of dynamics, Monaural sound and no life.....
