Mga sirs dun ba sa AMX el34 interchangeable yung el34 sa kt88 or 6550? Was trying to contact Mr. Sevilla himself but he's out of the country. The technicians can't say din.

KT88--beam power tube, similar to uprated 6550. Original MOV/Genalex version is valuable old British tube, expensive and scarce. Still made in China, Russia and Slovakia.

EL34--very popular power pentode used in guitar amps and hi-fi. Still made in Russia, Slovakia, Serbia and China.

6550--beam tetrode, popular in hi-fi and bass-guitar amps. Original made by Tung-Sol, all American versions out of production. Still made in China and Russia (SED C logo, Sovtek).

Kt-88 is direct replacement for 6550 vice versa but from EL34 possible but some adjustment might required

Depends on the circuit desiged by sir andrew. Jetok's el-34 PP STC amp can take-in all 3 tubes. He only has to change to a 5ar4 rectifier tube in order to accomodate both KT88 and 6550 tubes. For el-34, the amp can take-in 5ar4, 5u4gb, 5u4g and 5u4 rectifiers. No more bias adjustments necessary for the amp.

Di naman sir! BTW, the guys here always use my scott and my dynaco as reference amps once a new AMX design comes out.

Really depends on circuit design sir. It usually ranges from 22k to 26k. IMHO, his is really a "Best Buy" and "Bang for the Buck" purchase, you really won't go wrong with these amps.

I've heard the EL34 STC but using a sovtek el34g. Very nice indeed. It doesn't go very low but the bass is taut and tuneful not flabby and slow IMHO. I wonder how this would sound with parts upgraded to boutique types.

with my limited experience with AMX amps - replacement of the stock tubes will produce the best audible results... maybe you dont have to go as far as using boutique parts

yup tubes...if you want an audible difference change the output transformers to tamuras

senyor, bakit 4 driver tubes na 12au7 ang gamit niya? mas ok ba yun instead of 2 lang?

syempre mas mura kung dalawa lang pero kung may advantage ang apat, baka sa apat na ko....
