Was just reading this thread and I'm very interested in the budget amps that will soon be coming out. Right now I have a tube preamp and a SS amp but I feel that my speakers are looking for a push/pull tube power amp. Sana maka-abot sa aming mga "starting" pa lang sa tube experience yung amp na ito.

Tick, tock, tick, tcck . . . .haaay hirap mag-antay! Will be monitoring for updates na lang. . . . . sama ako sa audition ha.

My Set-up is composed of the following:

Tono preamp using 2 x 12au7 tubes
Harman Kardon PA2000 - 100wpc (bridged mode)
Genesis Image Module 8300 speakers - >100wpc RMS; 3-way non-ported; 4 ohm impedance with fuse for bass extension (goes down to 2.8 ohms); don't know the sensitivity but very good imaging, huge soundstage and very detailed.

Sir, it would be better if you knew the sensitivity of your speakers, the higher the better especially if you'll use it for tube amps. Ganda yan AMX amps, impressive talaga.

Have tried looking for info on the speakers sa web but I couldn't find any. Even the manual does not contain technical specs. Is there a way to check or test the specs of the speakers (sensitivity and power handling)? Anyone? I'm having problems tuloy in matching my speakers with other components.

You would need an SPL meter, a signal generator, and other equipment for an accurate measurement. Don't know if there is a shortcut on how to obtain that data.

according to the facts I found on the web, aside from protecting the tube, lessens microphonics and noise. kaya nga sir gusto ko subukan sa isang phono stage kung totoo nga.

just curious lang po. planning on buying the tono personal and pre-amp maybe late this year for my planned audio set up since medyo mura lang to pero bakit ang dami na nagbebenta nito eh mga bago palang to. After all the hoopla when those things were first intoduced dami owners nagbebenta ngayon. just asking.

looking back - at the time wala pa yung mga ibang brands ng tube amps... the Tono preamp revived interest in tubes
