saw the tri amp yesterday. el84 for the highs; el34 for mids; and 6550 for the lows. heard them driving the alon speakers.

was an active crossover used? ok ito, triamp setup!

the budget el34 really sounds good, and its build quality is not that bad...installment pa

pare passive crossover was used for the tri-amp...mas purist approach, no coloration on the crossover...nabilib nga ako eh...yun lang room, masyado maliit for those amps and speaker set-up...maybe kung mga 10-12 feet apart yung speakers mas maganda...medyo naging boomy kasi nga because of the room...thanks!

mali lang ang setting pre sa x-over. mahilig ata sa bass yung nagdedemo doon.

i was really disappointed because aside from the overshadowing lows, the piano sound was quite dull to these ears.

Btw was able to audition this Budget EL34 tube rectified with Triode/ultralinear switch all i can say PANALO!! don't take my word audition it yourself..

17k grabe its a steal kahit side by side mo sa china brand.

Your right you can try to side by side this budget amp with a china tube for half the price iba ito.. initial impression was very good given some warm up ( around 8 tracks ) the amp will blow you out. ( would love it more if Svetlana EL34 tube were use ) you'll not believe that its a budget amp.

Pre were you able to check out the power amp version?

andrew was kind enough to accomodate my request for some parts change and mods on the budget EL34 PP amp (ss rectified). got the amp last week and now doing the rounds among friends. verdict - it's a great value amp, a super bargain for the price. enjoy!

yes, i had the tube rectified version for a couple of days. from my initial impressions, i requested for some changes, so the amp i have is kinda unique (hehehe). andrew texted me today from singapore that he may replace some parts on the stock to same parts i used...apparently, he liked the modded version too

circuit is intact with 6n1p and pair 5751. used another NOS pair (forgot which brand). only six caps upgraded...plus two other additional tweaks (time delay and hexfreds).

(actually, this amp was originally for a friend on a tight budget. he got another amp, so am keeping this. buti na lang

francis (sir VD) has one...he requested andrew for some tweaks and "upgraded" parts...got word from andrew that he "liked" the mods c/o VD and i think he's going to use them in the next batches...to sir VD, congrats! - ang galing di ba? bang for the buck!...hope to be able to listen to your amp soon...thanks!

Pwede kaya sabihin, EL34 PP Tube rectified Tweak as VD Amp? Sometimes "Copycat" is one step forward to what they call "Best Buy", Ultimate" more economical reason to temptation

or else you will carry the Amp again & back to Sir Andrew, " Sir ano pa pwede "Tweak" narinig ko kasi amp ni ..... Medyo mabigat ang Amp at mahal parking sa Park Square hehehe not to mention the traffic at availability ni Sir Andrew hehehe
